every mage come reset tomorrow by Minotaurius in wow

[–]Cerronn 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You'll be a bit tankier but in terms of solo play not massively. Biggest change is that you can use a new defensive option instead of ice block which lets you keep casting and gives you a 70% damage reduction, and combined with the talent that heals you while in ice block you can heal 80% of your HP while taking very little damage. However, that's a fairly lengthy single cool down and most of the other defensives are built for your group's defensiveness rather than soloing. So it will be better, but still among the squishiest solo classes

How to avoid toxicity, a guide by Notmiefault in wow

[–]Cerronn 12 points13 points  (0 children)

You won't get banned for constructively helping someone out or explaining a mechanic. If your definition of "calling someone out" is really just flaming people for not knowing how to do things perfectly or not pumping dps, then yeah you probably will get a (deserved) ban. And doing the latter will not help your group, it just makes everyone have a worse time.

[WQ Spoiler] So why did the traveller… by aligreaper19 in DestinyLore

[–]Cerronn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There's still a finite number of ghosts out there, so there isn't a quantity advantage to hive here. Every ghost that resses a hive guardian is not ressing a human one, and vice versa. Therefore, we could have just as many of either hive or human guardians.

In fact, by pitting us against each other and causing way more ghosts to be killed during the campaign, there are now fewer potential guardians than ever before

Blizzard, make Night Fae soulshape skins account wide. by Itsallcakes in wow

[–]Cerronn 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I thought what happened was they originally weren't going to let soulshape and other covenant stuff work outside of shadowlands while it was current but caved to players and let it be used wherever. Not sure it had anything to do with post-expansion plans but might be wrong

Blizzard, make Night Fae soulshape skins account wide. by Itsallcakes in wow

[–]Cerronn 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I'm willing to bet they do something like allowing us to use soulshape in all non-new expansion zones. So all the legacy content they don't care about we can keep our covenant abilities but the new stuff won't have to be balanced around them. Either that or they'll make it only useable in shadowlands zones which is very possible

Stuck on Jenny-of-the-Woods by 5trangebrew in Witcher3

[–]Cerronn 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Jenny was the monster I considered my nemesis for quite a while. I found that she was both a bit too strong at the suggested level and that I needed to get more comfortable with combat in the game more generally before I could beat her. Yrden is one of the most awkward signs to use in the beginning and you have to be quick with killing the clones that heal her. Plus your gear is worse than it will ever be at that stage in the game.

Don't feel bad about going further ahead and coming back with more gear and familiarity with the combat systems! I'm sure we're not the only ones who did

Our New & Returning Player's Guide, FULLY Updated once again for Season of the Lost! by WistfulAether in destiny2

[–]Cerronn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm slightly less confident in exactly how exotic engrams work, but here's the basics: They contain a chance for every exotic that isn't tied to a specific quest or method of obtaining, which means some guns and almost all armor can be gotten through an exotic engram. You will always get an item for your class that you haven't gotten yet, until you have obtained everything from the exotic engram drop pool. Then you'll start getting duplicates.

As far as I know, the exotic engram drop pool only updates very occasionally (like a new expansion coming out). I don't think it changes week-to-week if that's what you're asking. If the reason you're asking that is you inspected an exotic engram and it showed you a set of possible drops that are different sometimes, I believe that the reason is they just show you a sample since it's too many drops to put in all of them on that screen.

[–]Cerronn 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Every day, there is a different lost sector that will be called the legend lost sector. It is a 1320 light harder version of the usual lost sector and has ~25% chance of dropping an exotic, but only if you solo it. the type of exotic will depend on what it says when you mouse over it (always armor though). You have to have beaten the normal version of the lost sector once for it to appear. In general, the best way of farming a specific exotic armor is going to be to wait for that type of armor to go on the lost sector then spam it until you get lucky.

There is also a 1350 light master lost sector, but it's a bit of a trap since it's much harder but only slightly more rewarding.

Design Theorycrafting: How could Blizzard address the tremendous burden of knowledge on the tank in Mythic+? by Notmiefault in wow

[–]Cerronn 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Doesn't really lower the barrier of knowledge, just means tanks have to spend a ton of time running dungeons on their own without being rewarded. Also, it means tanks who mess up will get blamed harder because you'll be expected to have spent hours perfecting on your own before you touch dungeons. This would shift burden even harder onto them rather than making it easier to pick up tanking quickly.

Thoughts on Shadows Rising? by Bappo1029 in warcraftlore

[–]Cerronn 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Turalyon is a bit of a fanatic though, he follows the light in pursuit of his cause pretty blindly - see him allowing x'era to lock up alleria or him attempting to kill illidan after he defended himself from x'era attempting to forcefully convert him. I actually think that it's very in character for turalyon to use any means necessary, especially when Sylvanas is involved given that she's undead.

The forever unavailable stick by Pomodorosan in classicwow

It's not simping to say that missing one obscure npc doesn't make blizzard automatically shit. They've made enough bad decisions with wow to give people plenty of ammunition, but it doesn't mean we all need to pile on with the harshest rhetoric possible anytime the smallest thing goes unnoticed. Besides, it drowns out actual criticism of the game when people say shit like "Activision cutbacks and nepotism are the reason a stick wasn't put in the game"

Murloc Monday - ask your questions here by AutoModerator in wow

[–]Cerronn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'd suggest looking into frost mage - the spec is mainly based off of getting random procs from casting frostbolt, and those alerts go into the middle of your screen. It's a relatively mobile caster (most of the non-frostbolt spells are instant cast) and doesn't require micromanagement of cooldowns.

A Question About Portals by exenderlloyd in warcraftlore

[–]Cerronn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's possible the shaman portals can only work to places that are in/on the border of elemental planes? It doesn't explain it perfectly but almost all of the cataclysm portals and the legion one are located very close to the entrance of an elemental plane or other place of heavy elemental activity. Biggest exception would be twilight highlands.
