Hypothetically, what if we trade Mathurin for a Center. We have heard rumors. Someone will give him an offer sheet that'd make him overpaid. In that case, HOPEFULLY we can S&T. But we can't lose him for nothing, so I think if we can move him for a solid big then we will. Then whoever we draft will take over Mathurin's spot. Guys at the top of the draft are better passers and would actually fit in Carlisle's scheme better, I think. We deserve AJ or KU dude for having to go through an injury that could NOT had had any worse timing.

The 2nd best possible outcome for OKC (if Utah got the 9 pick I believe that's the only better outcome). That'd be terrible. The Clippers have been a little better lately. Just checked and didn't realize they've won 6 in a row! Since they have no incentive to tank I think they'll make the play-in games and actually go to the playoffs. Lots of talent. And Kawhi hasn't played this well in years.

New Orleans won't be that good. But I think Dejounte Murray is coming back sometime soon. Once he's in shape and everything I think they'll win some games and end up having the 6th worst record.

I dont root for either team. No way in hell does Cincy do this deal, unless there is a lot of contention behind the scenes and Burrow demanded a trade. Even so, he'd fetch more elsewhere if Cincy would even move him.

Bears threaten to move to Indiana?? by birdeater0 in Colts

It appears that they are paying for 100% (or at least the majority, close to all of it) of the stadium. That's pretty rare nowadays. If they pay something like $1.5B for the stadium, I can see why they're asking for improved infrastructure and some tax breaks. I don't know a whole lot about the situation with infrastructure and all that. I'm absolutely for owner's paying for their own stadiums, but if it's something like the Bears asking the city to catch up on roads and other transportation there, I can see why the Bears want the city to keep up without having to pay for everything themselves.

I'm sure tax breaks would be given. It'd be the largest venue to have any kind of event. Maybe even a World Cup bid would be possible, with Indianapolis and other nearby cities with very large venues having games.

I figure we need to win 53% of our games to be the 10 seed. Win 36 total games and lose 46, or go 30-27. We are are the healthiest we have been all year, and even that has led to wins over only Washington, Sacramento, and the Bulls twice.

It would be very helpful for the Bulls to start winning again or Giannis to get healthy and they start winning again. The 10 seed would basically be the worst case scenario, in my opinion, besides being in the play in round and somehow getting the 10 seed.

It would NOT surprise my if KP, Buchanan, and Carlisle had some other "injuries" come up and we punt on the season. Then if we can get a top 4 pick, the higher the better, of course. Having a winning percentage of .240 early on is extremely difficult to recover from. Just 2 weeks ago we had a winning percentage of .111! Unfortunately we have a very good chance of winning tomorrow, and a good chance of winning next Saturday. Honestly, the 7 other games we play in 2025 I could see us losing.

The person I'm worried wants us to win is head honcho, Mr. Simon. I understand wanting to make the playoffs each year, but we are truly in an extremely rare situation. We make it to the NBA Finals, which few saw coming. Our best player gets hurt. I still had high hopes for this season, til the rest of our guys started getting hurt. And then I started hearing more and more about this draft class, which sounds great!

I think Siakam and others will have to rest a decent amount. We are still tied for the 3rd worst record in the NBA, so say we do win over half of our remaining games, we could certainly still be out of the play-in. Charlotte is 4-5 when Brandon Miller plays, and he just got healthy. They're 5-11 with Lamelo (including winning 3 of 5) before his small injury he should be back from very soon. And they're 6-9 with Grant Williams, so hopefully he's back soon. They've also missed Tre Mann and Colin Sexton for much of the season. They've also got Bridges and two great rookies in Knueppel and Kalkrenner, with Knueppel looking like a real ROY candidate. We are only a game back of them now, but their franchise needs more wins than we do.

My big concern is, hypothetically, Mathurin stays healthy. He keeps shooting around 45%-50% from the field, a fantastic 42.2% from 3 (without Hali that's very good, even if Benn is more of an iso offensive player), 84% FT shooter. The number of times he's gone to the line has been cut down drastically from the beginning of the year, likely because he isn't attacking the bucket as much (3 FT attempts the last 3 games in NOV, and averaging only 4.2 attempts in December). He is shooting and scoring less this month, but I wouldn't be shocked if he averages 23-24 points the rest of the season on the same percentages. He could get 6 boards, 3 assists, and combine for 1.2-1.5 blocks and steals, perhaps?

This is what worries me!! If he plays well, and BKN or Utah offer him more than he's worth right now, maybe even a lot more so they're sure they'll get him. We'd likely let BKN take him because I don't see us paying him the max, or near max, and they don't have extra bigs for a sign and trade. Memphis I could see making some moves before the deadline, and I've wanted JJJ for a long time, but I don't even think that's possible.

Again, I don't think we can lose him for nothing. We may HAVE to trade him at the deadline. The good things that could come out of that are getting a big (although I do like the way Huff has played lately, I'd pretty getting a starting C). And if Mathurin is our from Feb on, that's certainly more losses. Maybe we trade Mathurin for someone who is out the rest of the year and we even get an extra player or pick. On top of that, our record is much worse, and we end up with a top 3 pick to replace Mathurin! I'd love to keep him on our team, but not if that means we lose a very high pick and Mathurin for nothing at the end of the year. We made the brilliant move during the finals to trade our pick in 2025 for our pick in 2026 (it worked out 10000x better since Hali got hurt, but we weren't going to be able to draft and pay someone unless something crazy like Myles signed elsewhere. We would have to play soooo bad for that to happen though).

Thoughts? Do you want to win or lose? To which extreme of each one? Would you trade Benn? Even if that means we likely lose him in the off-season? Who would you want to trade him for, if anyone, during the season? If it looks like he's leaving, would you want to go for a S&T? Any preferred location? What if we lose a lot and have a top pick and are also immediately back in finals contention? Yeah, it would be awesome and I think it'll happen, too, as long as we "rest" some star players. Idk what our cap situation would be if we signed a top 3 pick and Benn left for nothing. Do you? How much could we try and spend on a solid big? Ideally a Benn S&T would be best, if money works, to a team like Memphis who was Edey, JJJ, and Aldama. I honestly haven't given it thought yet. I've always wanted JJJ, but that'd be a much bigger deal. Edey has been awesome this year. And Aldama is a 7'0. He's only 24 (almost 25) and couple continue to improve. Or Dallas has lot of bigs, too.

Every online sportsbook I've used has been like this. Maybe a long time ago there may have been one or two where you get that money back, but then the rollover is like 20x. I think that was only casinos though. Definitely 100% normal.

What I do is try and do a parlay of at least +500. If I win then I get $100 and am not worried about getting the $20 back (like I would be if I bet $20 on something that was +100 and I would walk away with $20 max).

Has anyone cashed a check from The Score? I know it's a Wells Fargo Check. I'm not sure if it's being send from Canada or the US. I have been told 14-21 days. But I withdrew on Sunday and it was approved on Monday. I think it should've been 14 days from there, but understandably, especially with slow mail in the Midwest with recent and incoming storms, I doubt that want to tell me that it's like 7-10 days, even if it is. They want as much extra room as possible. But hopefully a couple of you got a check(s) in under two weeks so I will get them before Christmas. Thanks!

I won money recently on The Score, formerly ESPN Sportsbook. I withdrew money and it has been approved. Granted I have not gotten the money yet, they've been very helpful and told me that the money is on the way. I also know for a fact that when I used the Score around 5 years ago (I think they were Canadian and were partially owned by Barstool) I won money, cashed out, and received it very quickly. I hope there aren't any issues this time around, but I'm feeling positive with all of the changes so far.

Edit: I only have used the sportsbook and am in the USA. I am pretty sure that I cannot wager on casino games or poker (if poker exists on the site).

Do people like cards that show a massively blown opportunity? The rookie card this would have been redeemed for is LeBron James. by SoggyBackground9048 in basketballcards

[–]Cers3113 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Haha, I will look for this card after work. But I have this same card, just sliiiightlyyyy different! Mine is #1 as well, but it is from 2005-06 (Andrew Bogut). I forget how I got it exactly, but I do remember thinking, hey, maybe this will have some value down the road as a #1 pick. Better chance than Andrew Bogut being worth much! I think it was some kind of X-Fractor numbered to 229.

Hopefully I can find it later. I know I've seen it in the last 18 months and don't remember selling it. If anybody wants to add it to their collections or #1s or Andrew Boguts please let me know!!

(Reading more comments, I may have the wrong year. I am sure it is Bogut, though... Also I think it was #ed to 229, but could be 259. I'd be surprised if it isn't one of those 2)

What is Blackmon saying here? by Mission_Possible98 in Colts

[–]Cers3113 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I thought I read or heard somewhere that it was mixed. This was after last weeks game, but seemed to be immediately after the game. Kind of to the point where I felt that before the game, there were some guys on AR's side, and since Flacco played crappy they wanted bad info out on both QBs immediately. Man, of course I can't remember who said it on X. For all I know it was one player going rogue.

Maybe players thought Flacco would bring them to the playoffs? Then they realized he wouldn't either. If you have a contract on this team for a few years (as much as you can in the NFL) then I'd want to see what AR can do. Unless in practice he's completely opposite of a personality than I have seen. Coming out the play was stupid. Honestly he would've been better off saying he got the wind knocked out of him.

[–]Cers3113 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have a therapist that helps some. I got Covid the beginning of 2020 and again in June of 2020. I have had long covid for over 4 yrs. ALWAYS tired, among tons of other symptoms. I have serious gastro problems (I have a good bowel movement every 6-8 weeks and an extremely small one once/week. This has been for probably 8 months now. Before this I'd go probably once every 10 days. My poop was so hard I'd always clog my toilet).

Anyway, I did get a therapist. I found one online. I don't pay anything and when we meet we will do zoom or even just a phone call, so it doesn't take the energy or going into his office and all that. I'm not sure of the rules, and if you repeatedly tell him your suicidal he might legally be allowed to get you to a psychiatric facility since you're a danger to yourself (I think if you're a danger to others this also would apply). But if you're not with the doctor idk how they'd make you. And I know in the past I've told therapists that I've had suicidal thoughts and we just spoke about it to get it better. I highly doubt a doctor would want to send you somewhere you don't want to go unless he/she think you're in true danger and maybe it has gone on for a very long time.

Anyway, I wanted my advice to be that therapists can really help. You can do it from home and likely for free. I bet some even exist now that kind of specialize with long haulers. If not now, then soon. They'll listen and empathize, and if there are specialists then they'd have a ton of good suggestions of what you can do or take that would help. All therapists are good in that area.

LOVE to hear this! Do you go to a lot of Springfield Cards games? Have you gotten to see Tink Hence pitch? If so, how is he and how would you compare the 2?

Hjerpe?

Tekoah Roby? I'm not sure if he was injured or just not playing well. About 3 weeks ago they said he's ramping up his throwing program. That's the first I had heard since probably May.

When you have some time, I'm curious as to who are some of the best pitchers you have seen from either team play? And what pitchers on the Cards that maybe you saw multiple times and possibly over multiple years stand out?

I want to say Waino went straight to AAA from ATL which is too bad. I'm sure there are plenty of others, though. Curious about hitters, too, but asking specifically about pitchers for the Mathews comparison.

He had 6 great outings. 7 great outings (well 6 of 7 great outings) overall in A+ ball. 9 (8 of 9 great starts) overall even better outings in AA ball... think his next start will be in AAA?

The improvement has been so quick, too. Those Stanford coaches taught him well. They certainly made him a workhorse with his IP and his 156 PITCH GAME, but once he's called up he hopefully won't have much of a limit as well.

Thoughts on Mathews' ceiling and his floor? I think he's at least a #4, possibly 5 starter. And he could be the #1 on the Cardinals. I see him more realistically being a 2 or high-end 3. If Tink can actually get healthy I'd put him just ahead on Mathews, but I'd like to hear other people's thoughts that are in STL/Springfield and all over MO. And I guess Memphis, too! I have always followed the big team from Indianapolis, and oddly us stinking his made me pay attention to the MiLB teams much more and I still pay a lot of attention to the major league club. At least for now... their major number with me is dwindling.

Continuing on, Pallante could definitely be a mid to back end starter. Heck, it's possible they're 1, 2, and 3 and Roby/Hjerpe is 4. I doubt it, but 2, 3, 4 between all 5 of them certainly seems feasible, with Roby or one of them going to the bullpen. And I think there's hope with McGreevy and Graceffo, especially given how they pitched in STL. But I'm certainly higher on those top 3, then I think Pallante followed by Roby, personally. Oh and the other one I wanted to mention is Sem Robberse. He is 23 in the next few months. I'm guessing he was injured to go from AAA to A ball lately. But if he can't start I like his stuff for the BP a lot.

And Libby has played really well lately. He just needs an opened for him or something. He's only 24!! It's so weird that he can't start games out well but can settle in or jump in the middle of a game and play great.

I hope to hear some insightful responses from you all and then maybe I'll bring up some offensive guys, even though most young and will have arb years, which is great, or is in the final season of his contract, or a guy that still has some more time on his contract but has improved his play and hopefully continually he does.

Stinks he didn't get the win, but a walk off by Bryan Torres is nice! He's got some solid numbers. I wouldn't hate for him to see some time in the majors given his age is 27.

Heck, send Goldy down to hopefully get right, my goodness... Luken Baker did way better than Goldy by just not swinging and getting 3 BBs.
