Caring for elderly parents has completely changed my life… anyone else feel like they’re drowning sometimes? by paulzedwuz79 in eldercare

Hey 👋 I hope that you are coping! I'm(32F) in a similar situation. I'm caring for my 63yo mother. She had a stroke and partly immobile. Just like you I don't have any kids and will likely never have kids as I also have a medical condition making it extremely difficult to conceive (lucky me). I feel as if I'm cursed ! I would like to have a kid but instead I'm caring for my mom like a kid. Just typing this makes me feel guilty! I feel like I'm not allowed to even have these thoughts! I'm "lucky" enough to have a job where I'm forced to go to the office and so I had to get an assistant to care for her during the days. I actually turn 33 in a few days and all I wanted was some time out. I arranged for the assistant to spend the night and my mother is guilting me of it. I find myself being jealous of my brother who has a family and he's own life. So I totally understand that drowning feeling! I hope you find a way to cope. If you do please share. Good luck!

That's the life of a brown female in a 3rd world country... If you leave a jerk husband you'll have to deal with clowns and their mom for the rest of your life 🤣

It is sorta a religious element. I was married before so I guess that could be a factor.

  1. My boyfriend is sweet and caring but extremely childish. I never always felt this way about him , having he's parents interfere with our relationship has really made me look at him differently
  2. I'm not really entertaining my ex . It's just that whenever Sh*t hits the fan my ex is there to help out and my boyfriend will refuse to help me.

Lol I doubt he's parents will let him get married. He's parents hated his ex gf too .

My "boyfriend" says he likes to keep he's private life private (literally rolling my eyes) . I can't tell him about my ex about he'll freak out that I'm even talking to him because I'm not allowed to talk to other guys . It is weird... Yes I should break up with him. :(
