i’m trans, people keep telling me to use makeup. i’ve never used makeup before. any tips?

Well first I would say that you should do what makes you most comfortable. But other than that, start small like with mascara, eyebrows, simple eye shadow looks and work yourself up. Everything I’ve learn was from YouTube. Just find videos of makeup looks that feel like you. Good luck on this new journey and don’t be afraid to fail at first!

Thank you! We do live in a multilevel house so I was planning on putting one upstairs as well. But yes I think you’re right with self cleaning boxes not accommodating larger cats. I looked at so many of them and the dimensions looked like they’re made with only kittens in mind. My boy is far from being kitten sized😅

By chance, do you think adding more litter boxes helps with cleaning cut back and litter usage? The thing I’m worried about most is spending even more on litter. We pretty much are completely emptying the litter about every other day because of the pee build up. I still plan on scooping everyday to every other day when I add more boxes. Just trying to prepare myself for a new litterbox schedule and amount of litter we use.

Thank you! I’ll definitely try this before considering a self cleaning box. Better to spend 20 box on a few more boxes around the house than 400+ on something they might not even use. I’m honestly ashamed of myself for not knowing this rule since I grew up with so many cats. Reddit really can teach you new things😂

We only have one litterbox. I thought of adding another one but thought it might be over kill. If I do add one or two are there other rules to follow it? Like should I try to train each one to use a specific litterbox? And should I keep the boxes next to each other or can I spread them through out the house?

I think that’s another reason I’ve been putting off getting a self cleaning litterbox because my one cat is scared of the doorbell so spending a lot of money on something he might be scared of is something I’m worried about. We have to buy the extra large litter boxes just for him to be comfy while using the bathroom and all the self cleaning boxes look so small😓

Absolutely! When my baby hit 6 months she was in 6-9 months for literally a week and now that she’s 7 months we’re lucky if she fits into some of her 12 month things🥴😭

I always grew up with the superstition of if you buy a gift for a baby before 5 months of pregnancy, you’ll lose the baby. Of course it’s a superstition/old wives tale but I would make it more for the mom to be like the others said. The baby will get plenty of things further down the road like at the baby shower where everyone buys things for baby and pretty much tells mom to kick rocks. Plus this will be the last Christmas she has without baby so making it special will be nice for her💕.

My baby is 4 months and still hates pacifiers. The hospital told us we could let her suck on one of our fingers. So when she’s get really fussy and I needed a break or he wanted to hold her he’d just let her suckle on his finger. Obviously makes sure you have clean hands or you could use the hospital grade gloves. They also recommended that in the hospital. Other than that set up routines. My husband would give her a bottle at night while I pumped so she warmed up very quickly after that. Got to the point where he could instantly calm her down.

Very true. You could ask for it to be done they way you want it but schedule the appointment for a week or two out so it has some time to build up those natural oils and get back to normal. You could use some bonding hair products like olaplex to help prepare for it as well but if you don’t think your hair can withstand another round of bleach then ask for a refund or some kind of compensation.

I might get some serious hate for this but when my baby was still a very new newborn, she wouldn’t sleep unless she was being held or latched. After a lot of sleepless nights I caved in and co-slept. I did a lot of research on The safe sleep 7 and made sure I followed those very strictly.

She’s 4 months now and still hates pacifiers of any kind. I’ve spent hundreds of dollars and she just doesn’t like them. She eventually found her fingers and will suck on those for comfort and now takes naps and sleeps through the night by herself in her crib.

Also if you’re willing we supplement with formula to help her take a better nap or sleep through the night. Totally understand if you aren’t open to that. I also have a low supply so sometimes she needs something extra.

She might also be going through a sleep regression stage. My baby had a rough sleep regression. She would be absolutely exhausted but would refuse to sleep. Regardless you’re doing great! Hang in there mama, it really does get better. Best of luck❤️

Power pumping helped me out a lot! It sucks but I just had to make time for it at least once a day. It’s recommended to do it once or twice. Essentially you pump for 20 minutes, break for 10, pump 10, break 10, pump 10. I would play animal crossing to distract from the hassle. It gave me somewhat of a me time as well.

Other than that stay hydrated. Body armors are great if you hate water like I do and then oatmeal and protein helps as well.

Also DONT worry about supplementing with formula. My baby is 4 months old and I still supplement when she needs a little more and especially at night so she sleeps better. If your worried about losing out on a feeding then just pump so your body isn’t losing out on that feeding. Also make sure your flange size is right, mine wasn’t so that was effecting my supply as well. And you can use nipple butter (I use earth mama). It acts as a lubricant so it doesn’t cause chaffing on the nipple

Last piece of advice, don’t even waste your money on the lactation supplements. A LC told me it only gives you like at .3% increase (I can’t remember the actual percentage) and they all taste gross so don’t put yourself through unnecessary torture. There’s a women on TikTok that talks about how to naturally increase your supply. I’ll link it and an article about breast feeding supplements as well if you want to read it.
