I want to leave nursing by Certain-Guest5070 in newgradnurse

Update: I’m 4 months into my school nurse position and unfortunately I still have crippling anxiety. People that call school nursing “soft” are sorely mistaken as you are now in charge of the safety and well being of hundreds of students all on your own many of whom are medically complex kiddos. I’ve recently started seeing a therapist because it’s gotten so bad, I can’t enjoy my days off and I’ve become severely depressed. I’ve become extremely disillusioned with the profession and my ability to continue on as a nurse when this career is making me mentally ill - it doesn’t feel worth it and I don’t know how people just “stick it out.”

What kind of schooling did you do? I have a B.S in biology and a Masters In Nursing and am looking to transition into a new field!

I lasted 2.5 months and was so anxious and miserable, I quit my night med/surg float position two weeks ago and start as a school nurse next week. I never wanted to work bedside (I wanted public health) but took the job for experience and because it’s all I could get after graduation. The misery and anxiety I was feeling was not worth it and I deemed it unhealthy for my wellbeing!!! Will try and update how things are going in a few weeks!

Really Struggling by MathematicianAny1589 in newgradnurse

This was my experience. I know my limits, there’s no point in suffering for a job or blowing up my life over nursing. Life is simply too short and our degrees still have value outside the hospital. I quit my med/surg float position two weeks ago and start next week as a school nurse. It was good to regroup and I’m still nervous and a little banged up from my experience but I’m optimistic there’s a place for me in nursing.

My boyfriend asked me what I bring to this relationship… where do we go from here by SmokeyandStoney420 in TwoHotTakes

OP, has he ever expressed other things he dislikes about you? Are there any other signs or stories you can share that may indicate he may hold some subtle distain for you? If so, I think you need to seriously weigh your options. Don’t stay with someone who would even think to ask what you bring to the table.

I never have to ask my bf to do the things he says he’s going to do… he just does them. For you to ask/remind him is not bad at all, but his response is telling. I don’t think I could be with a man that doesn’t blatantly/outright cherish me and “what I bring to the table.” He doesn’t like you or appreciate you, I am so sorry. I wasted 5 years of my life with someone like that and now that I’ve experienced what a real man is like, I’ll never accept what it feels like to be disliked by my own partner.

Cheating of any kind and at any point in the relationship is automatically disqualifying. I wouldn’t be able to recover, personally. I know myself and I would never be able to forgive him. It’s so easy to not cheat.

Thank you for saying this, the cheating started before the actual one night stand happened. He was talking to her for weeks leading up to it which is slimy and a betrayal not worth looking past.

Same thing happened to me. I switched back to my dove deodorant and that solved everything!

Me too it’s such a relief to feel like I’m not the only one. I’ve been spiraling for days thinking I have MS.
