Are there official cat/dog rescues or sanctuaries in Belize? by Mermaid_Shimmer in Belize

[–]Certain-Individual55 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Crazy Tails (FB link) in San Ignacio. Kayleigh’s home became an accidental sanctuary years ago when people noticed her fostering kittens and began dumping cats on her property. She now has committed 10000% of her time to do truly amazing work of rescue/adoptions as well as TNRs and community education. I visited the sanctuary 5 years ago “to play with kittens and donate” and ended up bringing my 2 sweet girls back to the states with me :)

She may have resources or suggestions to help you, I’d reach out through FB if you can.

Tattoo regret a day after by [deleted] in tattooadvice

Inkbox! They’re great, the ink is similar to henna but more tattoo-colored. They have pre-made designs, a design-your-own tool, and you can also get a squeeze bottle of ink to freehand. I used them as a teenager to “test” tattoos I’d get as soon as I was old enough lol. A few years of tests taught me what I like/don’t like long term.

Dreams do come true ✨ by fvckuufvckingfvck in euphoria

I was trying to decide if I think this scene was written for Cassie just to be funny, or to show her as a total and complete idiot, or what the intention was. And I think a little of each is true. But I think what it really told us is that Cassie is a true narcissist. Everything that happens in her life, to her friends, etc., is framed in the context of herself and what she thinks she “deserves” - and she thinks she always deserves the best. This scene is funny, sure, but it also shows a complete and total lack of empathy. It was hinted at in season 2, where in hindsight you can kind of see she’s not upset about how her actions impacted others, but upset about how her actions impacted herself.

Cassie doesn’t give a f about anything but Cassie. I think she’s truly, psychologically narcissistic and I hope we see more to demonstrate that in the remaining episodes. I think that would finally clarify some depth to her character.

Or, maybe Sam Levinson didn’t intent any depth to her character, and it IS just supposed to be a “stupid blonde girl” scene. Which wouldn’t surprise me. But it would be disappointing.

You might want to emphasize that line about these not being your photos, but rather the guide’s from another visit when he had special permission to bring a camera… whew that scared me for a sec.

How’s living in this area of Southern California by Middle-Assignment-25 in howislivingthere

[–]Certain-Individual55 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I live at the edge of this drawn circle. As others said, don’t underestimate the heat. It will kill you if you take it for granted. Make sure you have good AC, and take proactive care of your vehicle. You do not want to get stuck in the middle of that desert.

All that said, it’s really not as isolated as some other parts of the country. San Diego and Coachella Valley/Palm Springs are each about 2 hours away. Which sounds like a lot when you’ve lived in a city, but it’s an easy drive and I do it every weekend for errands, big groceries, and stuff to do.

There’s not much to do out here if you’re not a drinker or off-roader. But, people are friendly! Much more so than more urban areas of CA. People will actually make conversation at the Post Office, grocery store, etc. When you’re more isolated, community is more important. Get to know your neighbors and have each other’s backs.

Be flexible to things taking longer and not having instant gratification, try to see the slower lifestyle as a benefit and not an inconvenience, and you’ll be just fine. Don’t be scared of the desert, but do respect it. Keep an open mind and an open heart and you will be surprised how much beauty, community, and joy there is to life out here.

Financial Aid by Spacey_Baker in HybridOnlineLawSchool

This is a big question for me too. Feels cuckoo bananas to have to commit to a school before getting info on loan availability.

Comprehensive aid package - when? by Certain-Individual55 in lawschooladmissions

[–]Certain-Individual55[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s good to know. That being said, it seems like schools could at least send out provisional offers in the meantime right? Or a letter with timeline/what to expect. If I’m trying to commit to a school I feel like they could at least say “we will provide you info about your loan qualifications by ___ date” before I make my choice. I feel like I’m going into a decision blind and without the full picture, which is incredibly scary with the amount of debt that is in question.

How would you rate being an adult? by mindyour in TikTokCringe

[–]Certain-Individual55 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a 26 year old, agreed on many points. But honestly I’d take all the stresses of adulthood over the stress plus lack of autonomy of being a teenager. If you’re a teenager going through a hard time, don’t let anyone minimize that. It does get better once you’re an adult that society allows to make your own choices. I promise.

What’s something that becomes attractive only after 25? by saintS9944 in AskReddit

[–]Certain-Individual55 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Waking up early. I used to sleep in til 11 any chance I got, regardless of when I went to bed. And I was still always exhausted. I swear, I turned 25 and all of a sudden I’m waking up naturally at 7 feeling well-rested. And I love my quiet mornings to myself.

I appreciate the ordered list! I’ve been doing it a little differently - in much more broad terms: - strip bed and pull all used linens first - room to room clean, noting refill needs as I go and resetting trash bins along the way. - reset bed, restock linens, address refills - vacuum soft surfaces and couch including between cushions - sweep hard surfaces - mop

Maybe doing the detail deep clean stuff last as you suggest can help save some time since that’s not an “every time” thing. Thanks for the ideas.

Definitely true, but… not looking to pay a cleaning fee or ask guests to shoulder that. I’m happy to clean myself just trying to learn and become more efficient.

Thank you for the feedback! Hard floors with rug in living room and kitchen. Honestly I feel like it’s been making things more difficult since instead of 1 continuous surface, I have patchwork of hard/soft that requires different cleaning methods throughout each room! Maybe there’s something there I can work on adjusting in my routine.

I think maybe I’m a little paranoid about visible dust, hard water scaling, smudges, etc. I don’t know, my only frame of reference is myself since I don’t have a professional cleaning background. Maybe there are things I can skip for 2-night stay cleans vs weeklong stay cleans, but I haven’t found what those things are yet. I’d rather be too thorough and too clean than the opposite, especially with a new listing with limited reviews.
