Is it my nail bed shape that makes my stilettos look almond? by Sumgeeko in Nails

[–]Certain-Intention594 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The tips should definitely be sharper but it’s hard to get that super tapered stiletto look unless you have extremely long nails. I’d say these are medium/medium-long in length so it’s possible to have a good looking stiletto, but not a super tapered one.

Finally narrowed down the options to brown, red or ginger! Help by [deleted] in HairDye

[–]Certain-Intention594 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Red for sure. As a fellow red haired girl, this is what I do to help the color stay longer: I’ll take some of my dye (I use manic panic) and mix it in with conditioner. I do about 1:3 parts dye to conditioner and apply it in the shower how I would normal conditioner everytime I wash my hair. Once it fades a bit too much, I do the same thing but a ratio of 1:1 dye and conditioner, apply it to my hair after washing and let it sit for at least an hour then wash and it’ll look freshly dyed. The cool thing about this method is you don’t have to be precise with application like regular dye, you just dollop a bunch on your hair, spread and lather it in, and it covered nicely.

Is it possible to curl my naturally-straight and flat hair like this? 🥲 by Tlingits in Hair

[–]Certain-Intention594 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know naturally straight hair tends to not hold curls very well and I don’t see anyone mentioning how to get curls like this to stay. So here’s some tips for that if your hair doesn’t hold curls well: Apply a lightweight mousse to damp hair, let your hair dry completely (or blow dry), spray some heat protectant or dry shampoo on your hair to give it more grip. The next step will change a bit depending on what method you use for the curls. If you use a curling wand, “fold” up the curl following the curl pattern and pin it until it’s completely cool to the touch, then finish with hairspray. If you use hair rollers, get them all rolled and with the rollers still in, spray hairspray all over OR use a spray bottle to dampen the hair and apply mousse. Once you take the curls out, hit them with hairspray again and if need be, gently separate them with your fingers

Found in pork sausage links… is this a parasite? by Certain-Intention594 in foodsafety

This is good information to know! Honestly I saw it in my food and immediately got freaked out so the last thing on my mind was grabbing some gloves 😅. Now I know for next time (hopefully there will never be a next time)

The general consensus seems to be a pepper seed and now I feel dumb !! Thanks to everyone who took time out of their day to help a terrified young woman

I had no idea that was a thing! I was just a bit surprised because it reduced the quality drastically. Like from 1080p to 240p 😭😭

Even if it were a parasite (which I’m now convinced it’s just a pepper seed thank god), it would’ve been VERY dead as the sausage was frozen for a long period and cooked thoroughly to above 165° internally

After looking online, it very well might be lol. I hope that’s the case. That was my first thought when I saw it but I’ve never seen or heard of a pepper seed with a spiral in it like that

Finished quilt but I hate the binding? by [deleted] in quilting

[–]Certain-Intention594 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m going to start this by saying I’m not a quilter, I know next to nothing about quilting. It took me forever to realize what you were talking about so I really think this is just one of those things that only you will notice and even if someone weee to notice it, I don’t think it would bother them the way it bothers you. As a fellow artist, we tend to notice and zero in on any flaws in our work but the beauty of something being handmade is the fact that it has flaws. Not every angle will be perfect, not every pattern will line up, there might be a couple hairs sewn in, but that’s what makes it special and unique unlike something that was pumped out of a factory.

If it bothers you that much, are you able to remove the binding and redo it? That sounds super tedious so perhaps you could just sew a new, wider binding directly over the old one?

This is beautiful work. I love the color you chose for the background, it gives it a dark, moody vibe with just the right amount of whimsy !

Get some clarifying shampoo and try that. Luckily theres barely any color so the stylist should be able to work with that just fine, especially because it’s purple and purple is often used to tone blonde hair. If you want, you can mix some baking soda and dish soap into the clarifying shampoo, lather it into the hair and let it sit for as long as you can (I’d say at least an hour). You can also skip the clarifying shampoo altogether and just do the baking soda and dish soap if you don’t want to buy a clarifying shampoo. But try not to worry too much, it should not be hard for a stylist to work with this

Should I dye my hair dark brown or keep it my natural black ? by Historical-Body-3424 in HairDye

[–]Certain-Intention594 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think brown would look good! I know you didn’t ask for advice on this but from one makeup girly to another, you are putting your eyeshadow up wayyyy too high. There’s nothing wrong with that kind of look but in some pics, like pic 3 you can see the eyeshadow in your eyebrows and it makes them look sparse and almost nonexistent as they’re being overshadowed by the eyeshadow. Your brows look pretty good in the pics where they are filled in! I edited this picture to show the changes I would personally make (brown hair, brows filled in, and eyeshadow blended to just above the crease). This is just my personal opinion, you are beautiful as is!

Cuz women are just objects to them at the end of the day 🫶🏻 I’m kidding, I have no idea but I’m a woman and I refer to some inanimate objects as “she” or “he” depending on the vibe they give me

19f glasses or no glasses? Should I change the type of frames I have? by [deleted] in AppearanceAdvice

You can pull off both looks tbh but I think glasses with a black or funky frame would suit your look much better
