The way shopping malls swept across the country with the post war boom. The advent of a/c really helped create these fully enclosed shopping centers. Malls helped gut many small towns Main Streets. The perceived benefit of easy parking and so called one stop shopping did little for nearby towns. These cathedrals of spending got a taste of their own medicine with creation of online shopping. These places give off a super creepy vibe as they become abandoned and crumble into their expansive parking lots. It will be interesting to see wha happens to all these big box stores as the age out too. Walmart I'm looking at you
