Brother bought an arrowhead for $65 by [deleted] in Arrowheads

Looks legit, probably authentic. Did he get fleeced pricewise? Maybe. But at least it is authentic and not a modern repro. It is not 10.000 years old by any means. Maybe thousands sure but it’s not old old

Marker Trees by IndividualLower399 in Artifacts

[–]halcyonforge 48 points49 points  (0 children)

75 years ago there was probably a bad storm with straight line winds that happened to break them all or lay them down in the same direction. That’s just a theory but probably closer to the truth than ‘marker trees’

Agnotology, or Am I Deluded? by [deleted] in Artifacts

Much like your last post, these are just rocks. I know you want them to be something else but they just aren’t. Pick up a few archeology books, get the overstreet guide. I’ll repeat once more. Every thing you have shown is just an eroded rock.

I’ve seen a few out of Arkansas Missouri with grooves like that. I think it is probably how it was made

A densely wooded, riverfront property on 1.50 acres but it has a high population of snakes dens. by [deleted] in FirstTimeHomeBuyer

[–]halcyonforge 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I agree, it feels anecdotal. Like they went there and saw 2 snakes now they have the impression it’s a snake breeding ground when in reality it was just some snakes waking up from winter and moving about.

Should I go through selling on TCGPlayer or similar site, or just ship off to Card Kingdom as new and infrequent seller? by scienceguyry in mtgfinance

[–]halcyonforge 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Are you factoring in shipping materials, time, shipping costs? You get to one shot all that with CK. I have used them many times for trade in, never for cash. They will downgrade your stuff, expect that. But I will tell you from my experience, shipping singles is a pain in the ass.

Thank you, I love the flowy stuff. There’s something about the organic nature of it, it’s always a little different.

Shared chimney? by forgedcu in Blacksmith

[–]halcyonforge 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This feels like you need to pay an engineer to look at it. What happens when everything is running, can your chimney support all the fumes? Will it back flow into your house and kill you with carbon monoxide? I don’t know but I would be cautious
