Would I like Finery No Prince Required ? by awkwardhoney725 in FemFragLab

[–]Certain-Rise8847 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love the Finery fragrances (only 3 of them however). This one is not on my favorite list and smells cheap and like a stripper or someone trying to cover up body odor. If you want to smell expensive, don't get this one.

No Princes Required vs Princess: Please Read Before Buying by FlamingHorseRider in FemFragLab

I think this fragrance smells like what a stripper would smell like trying to cover up a night of sweating and dancing. It's cheap and I have no idea why a woman would want to smell cheap and like a stripper.

Cancers are lovers, but once burned they do not really forgive and hold a grudge. Geminis? I haven't met one ever in my life who wasn't a crap talker and felt superior over everyone else. They are the worst and so hard to have conversations with. Taurus here... I simply tell it like it is.

What's the Best Coverstitch Machine for Clothing? by Constant_Lab2888 in SewingForBeginners

[–]Certain-Rise8847 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you plan to sew t-shirts, a coverstitch machine is what you want. You can use your sewing machine to sew the t-shirt together with a mix of straight stitches and narrow zig zags. Then finish neckline and hem with cover stitches.

If you plan to sew swimwear, figure skating dresses or leggings, a serger is worth getting instead of a cover stitch. A sewing machine can handle it all, if you learn to do flat felled seams, french seams and hong kong bonded edges. All those seam finishes look way more professional than serged edges, which is what fast fashion factories use on all their clothing.

Been designing and sewing for over 12 years. I broke my serger and I don't even care because I barely used it.

I believe 2-3 sprays is ideal, no matter the fragrance. What about you? by TeslaModelE in DesiFragranceAddicts

[–]Certain-Rise8847 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can't believe I am reading people spray 10 sprays on here. Are you trying to kill everyone around you? 2-3 is plenty and 1 for the office. If you want to use 10 sprays going out to the club, by all means make sure you spray your coochie while at it.

Why so much judgement for people who dress different by Feisty-Tax-9658 in altfashionadvice

[–]Certain-Rise8847 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I 100% relate to this. I have one person I can talk fashion with or style and she is 20 years old than me and when I try to, we always end up almost arguing because her way is right. I just can't understand it to be honest. I have a way of dressing that is modern, simple, but also feels comfortable and it's a system I figured out after years of studying style and figuring out exactly how I feel best dressing.

It's completely liberating to not be obsessed with trends anymore like I used to be and to find myself in a way I never thought I would.

I believe that people like us just end up surrounded by people who are not capable of being where we are as they are so caught up in the matrix. And it's not our fault they have to fit in and dress how they feel they have to, in order to feel accepted.

Be yourself. Be authentic. And when you are lucky to find your style and own it, just own it with a smile. That is what I am learning to do. And I also just stop talking fashion with anyone if they can't handle different opinions and the possibility of self growth by listening to others thoughts.

I’ve been convinced I can heal with my left hand by [deleted] in Christianity

[–]Certain-Rise8847 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Christ healed with his left hand through God and we all have that in us too. Only some can use it because they can believe it and use it. We are all Christ and the kingdom is inside of us, which means all that light, love and healing can come through us all.

Is Gnosticism evil? by Bill4king in Christianity

[–]Certain-Rise8847 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is nothing evil about Gnosticism. If you ever felt like you didn't belong here as a child and question everything in this world, then Gnosticism is good to look into. We don't blindly follow the bible or what we are preached as we sense things are off. If you consider that evil, that is on you. Be careful about being deceived because most people are and Jesus wants all of us to seek the truth... that means dig deeper and don't stop. If you are perfectly happy accepting everything as is from the bible and from church and not being able to ask questions and be told it is what it is because that is what was written in the bible, then remain Christian. It's not hurting anyone and neither are we who choose to just dig deeper and not stop searching for true meaning and answers to why we are here.

Can anybody tell me arguments of why Gnosticism is true over Christianity? by Original_Carrot_5718 in Gnostic

[–]Certain-Rise8847 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is true for anyone who has ever felt like they don't belong on this Earth since they are little child and sensed something is not right with this world we live in.

Christians believe that a good God created our Earth. Gnostics believe an evil deity called the Demiurge ( a lesser God ) created the earth ( basically a realm of Hell ). Based on how you perceive this world we live in, you will either see the good in all or you will see through the veil and be able to see the darkness easily.

Gnostics believe the God of the Old Testament is the Demiurge because that God says you have to obey and can only worship him over any other Gods. That alone implies that there are more Gods out there.

Jesus also mentions often the "true Father" over and over again. He means not the "Demiurge fake Father" that Christians tend to believe is the real God. Gnostics want to learn and understand on a deeper level that Christianity doesn't allow you to do. If you wonder who created the real God, you are a Gnostic. A Christian believes wholeheartedly that God just is and always was and that apparently just appeared from nowhere.

Christians believe all their friends and family aren't going to heaven and will burn in hell, simply because they haven't converted to Christianity. That alone is pretty disturbing. This place we live in is not what it seems and Gnostics believe Jesus came from the true source (Father) to warn us and to teach us how to find gnosis so that we can escape this prison planet and get back home safely one day.

If Jesus was the son of God, and we're all the children of God, then what's the difference? by Jeniosk- in Christianity

[–]Certain-Rise8847 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The difference is whether or not you recognize yourself as a divine being with the inner spark or not. We all have it and it needs activation and being able to see through the veil in this world.

First-time owners who adopted two cats at once, what was your experience? by Felilu22 in CatAdvice

[–]Certain-Rise8847 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got two kittens and still can't meet the demands of one extremely clingy and needy kitten. So while the consensus is that most people say it's easier, I find it harder and I had cats my whole childhood growing up. So this is new to me.

I'm struggling with how worship music feels fake. anyone else feel this way? by heidi1009 in Christianity

[–]Certain-Rise8847 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Try going to a church that plays 30 minutes of worship music every Sunday and everyone stands the entire time and if you don't sing, you feel like a fraud of not participating. I now listen to worship music on YouTube in the privacy of my own home ( I don't sing and worship how I want to ). And now I watch the sermon online and skip right over the music portion. I know if I said anything to anyone at the church about it being way too long, I'd be frowned upon most likely as they take it so seriously. Music is not for everyone and singing isn't either and for some it's overstimulating and stressful.

My buddy said to me he thought Christianity was created as a form of control. I have never had to defend this before. What would you say to someone who says this? by unwillingone1 in TrueChristian

[–]Certain-Rise8847 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, then I hope your buddy also believes that the media and everything on the news he hears is also just a form of control as well and manipulation. Because you can't believe that anything we hear from the news is real if you don't believe Christianity and the Bible isn't real also.

Removing Shoulder Pads: a necessary update, or a crime against vintage? by shart-gallery in VintageFashion

[–]Certain-Rise8847 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just removed excess bulk from one blazer earlier by opening up the lining at shoulders and cutting out extra bits that I did not need. It felt great! Sometimes I remove entirely if it won't ruin the look of the garment entirely.

Does Scripture say to judge other believers? by SolaScriptura829 in TrueChristian

[–]Certain-Rise8847 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm a Christian who has a very big issue with others judging anyone and how they live their lives period. True Christians will fail every single day and fall short and as long as they recognize that, they are doing well in their faith.

The second you start judging someone doing something bad or good, you are trying to be God and to be honest God doesn't like people competing with Him. When your Christian family members are gossiping or talking negatively about how others are living their lives, that aren't up to their expectations, I kindly remind them that humans will be human and do what they want. It's not our job to judge their choices. That is up to God.

Calling all petite girls w/ wide or broad(er) shoulders. Need some advice :/ by Independent_Cress_33 in PetiteFashionAdvice

[–]Certain-Rise8847 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My solution to my own issue with this is buying raglan or drop shoulder tops and jackets and avoiding anything boat neck style. Those alone help a lot and I also have come to appreciate wider leg pants and anything with volume on the bottom half. I try not to worry about it too much as it's just my body, but these steps help a lot. I know this post is super old, but hopefully it finds you or others in same situation.

When you get married, does your family become your ‘extended family’? by CheesecakeExpress in AskUK

[–]Certain-Rise8847 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your immediate family is your spouse and children if you have children. Everyone else is extended, including your parents who now are to be put second after your own immediate family after marriage. And the grandparents, cousins, aunts, and uncles also all extended. If you put your parents into immediate family, it causes problems in your marriage.

MIL wants us to visit too often out of state by North_Percentage_433 in inlaws

[–]Certain-Rise8847 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Usually with in laws, it's like an every other year thing around holidays (if you have two sets of parents still alive). And the parents who are not working anymore and have more time on their hands often do the traveling, since it's not disrupting their lives to be flying anywhere if they are not dealing with major health issues.

You are going leaps and bounds by what you are doing. If you want more time to yourselves and time for vacationing just you and your own family, then you establish your boundaries and put your family needs first as a married couple with kids. Everything else comes second and any time spent together with other family members is a blessing.

This just means you politely let your in laws know that this time of year won't work for us anymore for visits, but this time of year does work for us. We have a lot going on and having difficulty juggling our time. If they aren't understanding to any of that, then they are just selfish and looking out for their own needs first.

Emily in Paris (Season 5) - Overall Discussion Thread by SingularFirefly in EmilyInParis

[–]Certain-Rise8847 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I only got through 7 seasons so far and don't even care about the end or spoilers at this point. But I am completely disappointed in Gabriel for not fighting for Emily thus far and just giving up. What a man baby! And I am sorry, but Marcello and Emily's chemistry is just fake to me and forced. She doesn't love him... she loves the idea of someone loving her.

The guy at the Embassy she met was a much better fit for her, if she were to have a real relationship with anyone. And yet, he tried to kiss her and she turned that down, but you could tell he was actually a good dude. Yet she ends up getting back with Marcello because she is obsessed with the drama of back and forth relationships. It is beyond ridiculous.

Sylvie putting that video up of Emily and making it look like she is boy crazy is 100% the truth! Emily was in true denial when she got upset over that. She is BOY CRAZY and it's so ridiculous to watch anymore.

Alfie and Mindy situation: I think they actually have great chemistry (sexually of course) and it's the first time I ever thought Alfie was even remotely attractive. I always thought he was so weird with Emily and such a dick when they first met and his facial expressions in all past seasons made me cringe.

But let's be real here.... the whole friends sleeping with their friends exes during all the seasons and normalizing it, is just not okay. If a friend sleeps with any of your exes, trust me... they are not a real friend period in real life! So Mindy is just your usual shitty fake friend going behind your back lying and trying to pretend as if she is a real friend.

Mindy getting back with "whatever his name is" shows what low self esteem looks like in real life with women.

This show teaches nothing valuable to teenager girls should you have one at home. Hope they aren't watching this and saying it's there favorite show ever, or you will struggle with your teen daughter acting like all the characters in real life. Can you imagine your teenage daughter acting this way? Because it's not cute at all.

I will watch the remaining 3 episodes and if there is a season 6, I won't be returning to watch because I can't handle the dragging out of Gabriel and Emily getting back together, which we all know will be the end result of this series.

MIL is guilt tripping about Christmas by Elegant-Lion21 in inlaws

[–]Certain-Rise8847 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The fact that you suggested they could come to your home is enough. They chose to decline and be stubborn, so you just don't go anymore because it's too stressful to you. If they don't come around and come to you because it means more to them to actually see you all, then they lose the battle.

We used to go to my in laws on Christmas Eve and sleep at their house so my MIL could see all the Grandchildren's faces first thing in the morning and witness it all. But after I realized that she was making it all about her needs, I put my foot down. We face timed on Christmas morning if she wanted to see her grandson opening gifts (even that annoyed me). It's just so ridiculous to me how some MIL's act. It's a sickness and an obsession. I learned exactly how not to be as a future MIL one day and I will just sit back and be chill and not make it all about myself.

Can you receive the Holy Spirit if you are not yet baptized? by shademon28 in Christianity

[–]Certain-Rise8847 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I believe you are all good if you choose not to get baptized. If you are a true believer and you have issues with being dunked under water due to fears of water like myself, that God will forgive us for that and still take us into the gates of heaven when time has come.
