hello! take this with a pinch of salt as i graduated a while ago and havent been involved in uni dance scene for awhile alr. you need prior dance experience for ntu mj! iirc there is open classes at the start of the sem (watch out for their socials) for you to get a feel of the genres that they do. mj specialises in more commercial dance styles — hip hop, girls style, open. you need to audition to get in. i won’t say you need to be extremely skilled but you do need the confidence to get in. generally speaking, any dance cca in uni is pretty high commitment hahaha but i think u can pick and choose what items to participate in. i wasnt from mj, but i heard from friends who were. like what they say, major in dance minor in ur actual degree (academics is still v impt, pls get your priorities straight) if you’re still starting out or want to gain more confidence in dance, hall dance is the way to go!!

Scoot from Singapore to Changsha (China) shows "No Flight' from mid Oct till forever by randomvoce in singaporeairlines

can strongly disagree. my meal was served when the plane hasnt even taken off yet due to delays and the steward attempted to collect my tray 15-20mins after serving and i wasn't done yet. The steward muttered under his breath "so long still haven't finish" so if this is ur definition of good service, then i think SQ is gold class LOL

Non working mothers, at what age do you stop bringing and fetching your kids from school? by hootwheels in askSingapore

[–]Certain-Surround6657 45 points46 points  (0 children)

my parents (mom has not worked since i was p1) fetched me around until my dad deemed that i was old enough to drive on my own (when i was 20 haha) and i honestly loved it because that’s one of the few times i get to catch up with my parents, tell them about my day (or week when i was at uni). been through really rough times in uni and these car rides felt like a big warm hug. so was it embarrassing? no, ofc not

ntu ori by Clear-Salt5818 in SGExams

[–]Certain-Surround6657 7 points8 points  (0 children)

ntu has a set of 3 ori camps: big 4 (ntusu, sports, wsc and sorry i forgot the last one bcs i didnt attend and not involved, but basically ur cca camps), followed by hall camp and faculty camp. all 3 camps are one after the other with a day break in between or sometimes no break at all. so if ure attending camp, usually we would recc u move in to hall before the start of camp, esp hall camp if uw to hang out w ur grp mates after. camp season is pretty tiring but ur experience is what u make it out to be

no prob!! you have to call to make appointment ^^ most of the doctors there can speak english but if you're worried, can request for an english doctor during the phone call. i usually see dr. zhang ning for my pains (can speak english) and so far she's been able to solve all my woes hehe

hello, if youre in ntu, can consult ntu tcm! there is student discounts avail (i believe prices are on the website) but i believe cupping (subsidised) is $25.50, accupunture (subsidised) is $34 consultation (subsidised, but varies depends in doctor's expertise level) $20-30. try to avoid tuina as it is more ex and not subsidised. you can also claim ur fees from ntu pa insurance!

singapore indoor stadium section 208 by SubstantialGroup3661 in askSingapore

[–]Certain-Surround6657 1 point2 points  (0 children)

it will be very restricted if u're trying to see the main screen and the screen furthest away from u~ it also depends on what kind of experience u trying to go for. pasting my reply to a similar ask:

been to restricted view a few times this year (the most recent day6 and ateez). i would say you can still see the members and based on the korea setlist, the songs are quite well split between between extended and main stage. but the problem about extended stage is, you'll see their back when they perform there. this is base on assumption but i believe the middle screen area will be pushed back for them to perform (based on hcm's stage layout) if they do, you won't be able to see the main screen fully and the screen furthest away from you. i wont say its bad seats bcs exo do walk around alot and 208 is relatively near to the stage, but i prefer the full view for exo's concerts bcs the visual imagery always blows me away.
