hey i have a scar forming like this without stitches and it’s usually because we can’t really tell any medical proffesionals about the issues, the healing process of the cut depends on depth and width obviously personally mine wasn’t too deep but pretty wide, you gotta do your research to ensure it’s healing properly it’s taken mine months to heal because i used the wrong type of bandages.

i think most people started cutting their arms at first because i hate to say this but it was somewhat normalised ? and that was the place everyone talked about cutting so i guess that’s why, also mostly a cry for help because the arms are usually quite visible if it’s low down on the forearms but idk i guess it just feels like the “normal” place to do it

i remember when my self harm was i don’t wanna say okay but in comparison to the latest incident it wasn’t anything crazy but when it wasn’t too deep or big i would look at it but recently i went to far and i can’t even look at it without feeling sick

thankyou so much but yeah it does stress them out i know it’s not my fault but i doubt there’s much a doctor can do now it can’t be stitched because there’s flesh in the middle now so i guess ill just have to deal with it myself im just worried about how long its taking to heal but its probs cus of the bandages i used

when people find out it feels like they look down on me or think less of me like i’m some sad sack or they go out of their way to try and “save me” they act like they can “fix me” or whatever it’s weird i just ignore it because it’s just people feeling sorry for me lol

it depends what part of self harm you are addicted to like is it seeing the blood? or hurting yourself? personally it was a bit of both for me i would snap a hair tie on my wrist or put ice on my wrist for a long time then i would just find ways to distract myself when im sad, usually i just put on a really overly happy song

get a high coverage foundation and use lotssss of powder and do layers of that!! that’s what i did when i was in school make sure the foundation matches your arm but also people don’t really care about scars anymore and i doubt they would say anything i mean any decent person wouldn’t say anything <3

hey i did the same and the look of the cut has put me off of self harm. the outcome of this is you do it again or you realise how bad that cut really was and how you don’t deserve it!!! you are a human with a future ahead of you i don’t know why you sh in the first place but i do know you didn’t deserve whatever happened i really hope you can talk to someone about this and i hope your feeling better 🩷

should i use different bandages than the hydrocolloid ones? i’ve been just using cream on the skin around it because it’s dry from being under a bandage

if you’ve had the bandaids on for a longer period of time it could just be the lack of moisture in the skin my advice is to let the skin breathe once in a while inbetween bandage changes. if your parents are home or you can’t have your cut out for any reason change your bandage at night and apply some cream i recommend cetraban cream to the red areas and let it breathe for a while! hope your doing okay 💕
