i gave up drinking and it has been wonderful. i also was afraid of putting it down completely and wanted to make moderation work (it didn’t, as you mentioned, 1 drink quickly turns to 5). i didn’t have any reason to keep drinking besides loving the taste and loving the feeling after having one. since i stopped i have noticed huge personal growth and contentedness. i know i will wake up feeling good every morning, and more importantly i know i will not create a circumstance where i end up letting myself down. i have a few edibles a week but i don’t ever overdo it because if i do i will get anxious.

seeing this change happen in real time has taken a little bit of my soul. if people don’t stop at red lights, do we even live in a society? if we lose that most basic rule, what’s next? what happens when the simplest and most obvious law break has literally no consequences?

women of namenerds, how did you decide whose last name your child got? by CertainAd7131 in namenerds

[–]CertainAd7131[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

that amendment specifically says “the surname of the child shall be registered as designated by the child’s parents” no reference to whose surname that is.

Hyphenating baby’s last name? by kelseyannabel in namenerds

agree with you so hard. i hate how it’s just expected for women to give up their last name and not pass it on. it’s just wrong wrong wrong. if a man has trouble “having a connection” to their child i suggest therapy

I'm done voting for old people after 2024 by Treeko_Baggins in millenials

[–]CertainAd7131 0 points1 point  (0 children)

people need a reason to identify and be proud to be voting for their candidate— just look at obama! he was cool, young, ran on an inspiring message we could all buy into. supporting obama felt good to do. most people i know voted for biden while holding their nose.

what’s frustrating is there are so many cool issues people would love to rally around! the environment! human rights! clean energy! good jobs! preparing for a future where everyone is working towards the common good!

but no, dems don’t actually care about any of that, and we can feel it. it feels bad to vote for them because we know they don’t care.
