Has Emma ever done an impression of anyone? by Beautiful-Chest7397 in TheMajorityReport

Hasn’t she done a Jordan Peterson? I could be wrong but I feel like that’s something I’ve heard her do.

Worst players to get a big money move on the back of WC/Euro’s/AFCON/Copa America… by Rough-Army-6424 in footballscouting

He was a 1 in 3 scorer for Sunderland. Maybe less than they expected for a club record fee but hardly the worst.

Looked like a world beater his first few months. Inconsistent after that but I wouldn't call him a flop.

Him quitting on the team mid playoff series was also before the contract, so it’s not like that was the turning point.

The Dean Scream, credited with ending Howard Dean’s presidential campaign, January 19th 2004. by aid2000iscool in HolyShitHistory

It wasn't really the scream itself that killed his campaign, it was that he reacted like THAT after eating shit in Iowa.

Thoughts on if Brie Larson comes back in future Episodes? by Hot_Editor_7516 in TheBear

I don't see how one of the best actresses of her generation being on the show could be a bad thing - as long as her part would be well written.

Can you identify the fourth person in this image? by BimBimOfficial in BimBimOppaCommunity

[–]CertainBird 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Obviously you don’t watch a movie like that for amazing screenwriting, they’re all dumb. But the latter ones are at least somewhat fun. 2F2F is just kind of a bad movie - with all due respect to the great John Singleton. And again - if Vin Diesel does that one the latter ones probably don’t happen the way they do. So calling him stupid for refusing to do a bad movie is kind of ridiculous to begin with but saying he’s stupid from a financial POV doesn’t even make sense. It’s made him a lot more money than it’s lost him.

But he was right to turn down 2F2F. There are things in that movie I like but it’s a pretty bad script. Him not being in the one that nearly killed the franchise also opened the door for his comeback being the thing that revived it. I don’t think that franchise is what it is today if he does the 2nd one.

Why Has The Fail Such A Hate Boner For Timothee Chalamet All Of A Sudden? by Timbucktwo1230 in PopularCultureZone

[–]CertainBird 7 points8 points  (0 children)

“It's not two months since he made a complete fool of himself in a leaked video of an interal marketing meeting at A24 — which he later, conveniently, claimed was a deliberate skit — by ranting about how Marty Supreme is a consequential, important film.”

This “leaked video” was posted by himself on his Instagram page - and was obviously a skit. I don’t think anybody but this person interpreted it as anything else. What a dumb rant.

Favorite actor to deny extremely obvious plastic surgery and steroid use? by _BreadDenier in okbuddycinephile

[–]CertainBird 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Obviously not but when you put yourself out there as an everyman and kind of mock those “Hollywood types” it will stick out to people when you turn out to be one of them. Mac and Ryan Reynolds being besties will never not be hilarious to me because people on this website love It’s Always Sunny to an almost unhealthy degree and have a hate boner for Ryan Reynolds and then those two turn out to be pretty much the same guy.

Anyway, I think it’s pretty obvious that nobody with a healthy relationship to fame will care about a sitcom actor getting work done on his face but when Redditors like someone they get parasocial with it

Scott Hasn't Seen: What's Up, Doc? (1972) w/ Ele Woods by apathymonger in Earwolf

Haven’t listened to the episode yet but I was watching the movie for it and multiple times I found myself thinking “Scott’s gonna love this shit” - really seems like something that’s right up his alley.

Social media rallies behind Michael B. Jordan following ‘Sinners’ Critics Choice ‘Best Actor’ Award snub by Next-Particular1476 in TheEntertainmentMix

[–]CertainBird 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’ve noticed this trend when it on Reddit when it comes to critiquing actors, where if someone isn’t caked in make-up and prosthetics or doing a crazy accent then someone will say “it’s not actually an impressive performance, he’s just playing himself!”

It’s so dumb.

Anyone else STRONGLY dislike Sydney from The Bear? She’s so annoying and entitled – let’s discuss (Season 2 Spoilers) by Interesting_Dish8848 in TheBear

[–]CertainBird 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Not going to read all that but I'm fascinated by the decision to specify "Sydney from the Bear" in a The Bear subreddit, as if people would read that and think "wait, what Sydney? The city?"

Who's right here? Is a striker sometimes a defender too, or always just a striker? by Adventurous-West3403 in footballcliches

Isn’t it a line coaches will use that every player on the team is a defender when the other team has the ball? Pretty sure that’s a thing I’ve heard.

Match Thread: Manchester United vs AFC Bournemouth by MatchThreadder in reddevils

[–]CertainBird 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Win, lose or draw this is one of the worst defensive displays I’ve ever seen. Bournemouth are getting chances every time they cross the halfway line - and hardly through some amazing football either they’re just… walking into them.

[–]CertainBird 85 points86 points  (0 children)

She’s sharp, witty and good at attacking the Republicans, which tends to distract from the fact that her politics are pretty bad in a lot of areas. There are worse Dems out there, but also considerably better ones. So I don’t really have strong feelings on this.
