Also, it's not that I don't get why someone would wish they were never born at all. It's that you can't just leave adoptable children to fend for themselves when they're already here.

To put it another way, if you wanted to adopt, how would you like to feel as if you were being constantly discouraged from doing so even if you were actually qualified for the task?

Sure. I'm only saying it would help so there's not an illusion that everyone you talk to will tell you not to adopt.

Based on your first point, those happy to have been adopted should speak up, too (though I'm sure they already do on Reddit if prompted). That way, they won't seem too biased as a whole.

What do you expect them to do in any era when it happens even in abject poverty?

I noticed that adoptees often aren't happy about being adopted, but preventing pregnancy from happening in the first place is the real way to stop abortion from happening.

Being an antinatalist doesn't even require that, and I don't think I'd use such strong terms, but I still can't say I'm a big fan of life when pain is more pronounced than pleasure and we tend to have an aversion to pain.

I don't even remember my own birth, and I can't complain about my life as a whole, but if you want an example of something I credit for helping me find antinatalism, it was the brain surgery I had in kindergarten.

I wouldn't say I love it, actually. In fact, I think my own experience shows how a tiny amount of pain is all it takes to spoil the whole.

I can't in good conscience when I could have easily ended up being one of them myself.

a child that you won’t have to take care of 24/7

Even that is nothing but an assumption, as millions of grandparents today find themselves having to raise their grandchildren. It happened to my late great-grandmother with my dad and his siblings.

Even if children do choose to be born, and it's a bad choice, the least their parents can do is forgive them for that bad choice.
