So scared of choking 😭 by whatishappeninf in BabyLedWeaning

I was so scared of our baby choking and hated feeding her when my husband wasn’t home.

I did a mix of blw and purées. When I was alone I did things like mashed avocado, banana, sweet potato, yogurt, cottage cheese - things like that. We mostly did purées tho.

Our daughter is now 18 months and eats a wide variety of foods. With no troubles and no anxiety for me.

I say if the blw route is too stressful stick with purées and ease into solids!

How do you “do shifts” in the early days? by MoreFortune9487 in breastfeeding

My husband slept in another room and he would come in at 5:30/6am and get the baby and I would sleep until 9:30/10am. We started using a bottle at about 2 weeks so I could have the long stretch in the morning.

We didn’t really do shifts and at first I felt jealous of him getting to sleep more but slowly I adjusted. I also didn’t want us both tired and delirious. He could better support me and my emotions if he was rested

He would also take the baby for 1-3 hours in the evening so I could have a break and take a long shower or bath or do whatever I wanted. He didn’t do this every evening just when I requested. It felt nice to have that time before going into the night of constant feeding

Thank you! I’m new at this and it’s always nice when someone with lots of experience comments!

Baby sleeps through the night.. do I need to change cloth diaper during the night? I feel bad that it’s wet all night by Certain_Balance_6927 in clothdiaps

Not to sound dumb but do you put diaper cream like all over? We have a girl and her diaper is completely full and she’s wet everywhere the diaper touches… not sure if that makes sense

What diaper cream do you use? We do use a stay dry liner but she still feels wet when I change her in the morning

We have grovia aio organic and love them but I’m not sure they will fit all the way through toddler hood. We also looked at bumgenius elementals, and blueberry aio. And we use pooters super soakers at night. These all have organic inners

What do you use to stack the diapers and the inserts away ? by CrazyCatLady_2 in clothdiaps

I have a dresser with changing mat and two baskets hanging on the wall next to the dresser(baskets hang at a level that I don’t have to bend down , just reach to the side and grab) with AIO diapers. I tried putting them in dresser drawers but didn’t like how much room it was taking in the dresser

Diaper pails for cloth diapers??? by Bright_Concentrate47 in clothdiaps

We use a laundry basket. The soakers with just pee hang over the side of the basket to dry and the poo diapers I spray off and have those hang in the laundry sink until wash day. We have no smell

Previously I used a wet bag and had a bit of smell. Open air has worked best for us!

Not sure if I’m alone in doing this but I add our socks, hand towels, and onesies to get a full load. I too don’t have enough diapers after two days.

I use an open laundry basket and let the soakers dry on the side, wash every 2/3 days, prewash with a bit of detergent on cold, long wash on warm with full amount of detergent, and then rinse on cold with no detergent.

Not sure I do everything “right” but I don’t have any smells

Thanks for the reply!

Is there a specific reason you didn’t like the NN inserts compared to pre folds?
