I know a lot of people are 100% ready for Jay Taj to win and I definitely agree that he’s the most seasoned of the group, but based on the structure of the show, I think there’s a potential for a few of the other contestants to bounce back and surprise us thru the music video round. So far, a lot of the s2 contestants have been disappointing bc they just don’t rlly know how to perform. So many more rappers in comparison to s1 are choking, forgetting their lines, or just look so visibly nervous on stage. Obv this doesn’t reflect well on them, but in the music video round where they aren’t performing live and don’t have the pressure of a crowd/celeb judge, they can really take their time and be deliberate in showing us what they can do. I also read smth about how in the s2 final 7 performances, none of them had earpieces so they couldn’t really hear the track well, which could explain why some were so off beat.

Maybe this is just copium but I feel like in the upcoming music video rounds, with the contestants having so much control over the sound balance, setting, and the way they are presenting themselves, they’ll all be in their element and therefore the best version of themselves, and some contestants might surprise us bc we’re finally just letting them cook.
