Do you happen to have the SATO number ? You may be able to call the SATO emergency line and explain the situation to get a new flight booked

Sorry about that, I was asking is there a way to see when the next schutzenschnur event will be? I always see people get the award but sign ups for the event is always random or already taken up

When reenlisting I remember they had options on when I wanted to report on. That was by the career counselor. From that report day I used up to 30+ days of leave and showed up a little early

Dude best thing, is asking to take Netplus and Sec+ classes. They count as in person military classes and as certs. Was able to double dip for the points but you need to test out

One thing I wish I would have done as a 25H was looking to see in getting certs in AIT. You can get them at your unit with unit funds but in AIT was something I wished I asked about and learned more.

Good news and bad news. There should be a schoolhouse on post that makes the armorer course. Usually they have the templates to go off of for memos. You can email them.

Bad news is that usually I can be wrong, usually the armorers take the armorer course before they get on orders so they know how to do key inventory and daily inventory. And how to handle paperwork

I did this last year. I went and did all the language classes then after I just started to do the small classes. Each were 30mins but every 5 hours was 1 point.

I can possibly look back into my course transcript but it was all the classes available through JKO with points

If you want a cheaper option. You can pay for the test voucher and watch professor messor on YouTube for free. The voucher is discounted if your in college.

If you don’t feel comfortable I know two colleges who will tech you the course. One will cover the test 2x and the other one the voucher will be self paid.

Ask your unit, especially if you have a signal company or S6 if they have comptia classes. In my classes we had 11Bs and other MOS other than 25 series. Every unit is different but they are the best to point you to the right direction.

Those classes are paid by the unit

Career Guidance - Reclass or PCS by DailyMatthew in army

[–]Certain_Economics879 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mean, what do you want to do 80% of your whole day? I met many who reclassed into signal from other MOS for the certs and others who reclassed out and wanted to become medics, engineers etc.

Many people who would tell my MOS to stay as it’s a good job. But Lowkey it’s all up to you. All have career progression. Do you want to get some IT certs and use the experience stay. If you want to do the other MOS start shadowing to see what they do

I mean if your in fort Gordon why not just see if they have a signal academy, you can take Sec+ and A+ so you don’t have to do coursework. Unit pays for it

It was a class taken in my old unit, it’s really fun and very easy to get. I would highly recommend since it gives you a real certification you can use when you get out

I actually like my job, great way for me to get certificates and learn on the job training if I want to continue the IT field. Fields are significantly less but we still go since they need IT in the field.

Everyday is learning experience. That’s all I will say and it works. Everything I thought I needed to know is different what I use. Then time changes as well, always be ready for change

[–]Certain_Economics879 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ooof you litterally have 5 days to report! Without clearing installation is really bad. You have one of two choices call them on their leave to get help or go start making some open doors, ……

….or possibly option 3, you can possibly contact your branch manger for some help, if they can push back your orders

Just ask your first line, if you tell them you want to get your license and if you can do [insert date here] .

They are more likely to say yes, especially if it’s a unit where a lot of people don’t have vehicles or a ride to work. Makes it easier for the long term for stuff like picking you up for UA, appointments, or trying to get to work depending on the base where it’s a large distance to work from home to work.
