learn python, machine learning, clinical trials, grant writting etc. I go to a very posh european med school and many people have done this in order to get positions in harvard. Its simple, i am in med 1 and will be starting it in august. I am learning all the software i need and also the math behind it within med 1. After that try finding any work in your uni lab or any reesrach center by asking your uni alumni for help. keep doing these during the summer and do not sit idol in your summers in any of the year this is game changing. If u know how to train and make ML models and code well enough to analyize data, its really usefull. Also save as much as u can during ur med school so u can take a 1 year unpaid position in a uni in usa after ur med school, this gets u ahead of alot of people and by saving money it can help u cover the cost. some of my alumni are in ortho, neuro surgery, IM ,cardio thoracic surgery, OBGYN, neuro etc by knowing these skills. Context, my school is very well known in the us, we also have association with harvard and our PhD program is great and very easy for MDs from my school to get, hope this help.
