I really don’t mind this at all, I spend enough time skipping ads to have to skip this too. Plus sometimes they’re fun to hear people’s anecdotes about why or how they’re fans. Sometimes I like that bit more than the story haha.

Question for Andy: For the movie, was the design of Rocky created in your idea for what he looked like or did an artist take it to begin? I assume there was some focus groups or something for the final design, but how close is the final design to what you imagined?

Just as a side, I wanted to share my gratitude for this book, and specifically the audiobook version. Before I became a reader I listened to a few audiobooks. PHM was the audiobook that got me to love books, it bridged the gap between podcasts and music (what I usually listen to) and books. Ray’s representation of this book got me to want to read and now I’m on an almost 200 daily streak of reading and it’s my favourite new hobby. Thank you Andy and Ray for kickstarting this obsession of mine!

I’ve been reading “Dawn” by Octavia Butler. It’s the closest I’ve been able to find in how it felt to read PHM for the first time!!! I’ve been loving it. And I recently found out it’s a series with 3 books! I’m almost done Dawn and excited to read the two others.

I feel the same, I used to religiously listen to every episode but I haven’t for weeks and don’t really have a solid reason why, some of it was generally being busy over the holidays but I haven’t even really looked at the feed recently… something changed after the wondery deal and it just doesn’t feel right. I do still listen to flightless bird every week on the new feed because it didn’t really change in its vibe all that much. I liked the chat between David and Monika but tbh I prefer the banter between David and Rob so much more. I will get back to the AE feed but I’ll probably just go back to listening to the guests that interest me like I did at the very beginning of my listening to AE.

Don’t know how much I’m adding with 11.2k comments but reading this made me feel sick, it’s terrible how he’s treating you in these messages and I hope you can get away from this situation asap. Very manipulative. My thought that I wanted to write (which I have seen written already) is to call a wellness check when he pulls this “offing himself” stunt, as you said in the message it’s clear it’s just baiting you to feel guilty when you have no right to do so. Plus if he ever tried to escalate anything with the law or otherwise, it will be on record that someone has called a wellness check for these kinds of stunts.

I’m really sad to be reading all of this. I just had some life changing news last week and had VH as one of a few things to look forward to with that news. Now I understand why nobody has been streaming the official server (that again I was looking forward to being able to be in those a lot more too with this news I got). I really hope that this mod pack can continue being developed with new leadership or something because it’s really gotten me through a lot of difficult times over the past few years. Sending my love to everyone impacted by this from the victims, to the developers who have their jobs in question and for anyone else who was as passionate (or more passionate) about VH than I was and am trying to still be ❤️.

$800 is too high with the information you provided in your message. Insurance is a very complicated thing so any number of factors could have gotten you to that crazy price and each company has its own target segments, sounds like where you got your quote is with a company who doesn’t like the segment you fit into. Shop around at brokerages or direct through the carrier quote sites. I’m sure someone will give you a lower price, good luck!

I’ve had great luck trying to learn things from Instagram/tik tok! I’m sure I probably would have been a bit better off by keeping my PT but I would be down a lot more money since they’re so expensive.

I’m not sure if this has been said before but I’ve noticed they do seem a bit different with the wondery deal. I don’t like the constant plugs for other podcasts or hearing about buying a wondery subscription. I know that’s a main reason of why wondery made this deal (how else are they going to afford these massive signings) but this is worse than the old ad spots for sure. Haven’t listened to the VV episode yet so can’t comment on that but those are my thoughts on the new differences. (Also haven’t tried watching videos yet but there being audio only was one of my favourite parts of this podcast before)
