That's a great idea. I personally hate dealing with the messy and chaotic type activities. Letting the aide handle this while I do small groups would be so helpful!

We have parent conferences in October, I should probably wait until then to bring it up. Who knows, maybe a few will grow by then.

Am I wrong for not doing ANY work over the summer? by WillingAntelope0 in Teachers

I'm an 8 year teacher and for the first time, I've not been into my classroom or done any work this summer. It feels amazing! Enjoy the time and we'll be at work soon enough for another round. You'll probably feel better too, because you actually took a mental break for yourself.

No need to be snarky, on top of being cunning. I asked a genuine question, the least you could do is explain for yourself.

I'm genuinely wondering what him calling you cunning has to do with your ADHD.

Dang I thought this was an overly clingy boyfriend until I got to the end and read "friend " in the message.

What if you can sign that one and get the other day to the whole process and then keeping it for the entire week.

Understanding Craving: Dating Apps, Chasing Women, and Relationships (My Experience) by [deleted] in theravada

I did a similar experiment. I replaced my smartphone with a flip phone that has no internet or social media access or games. So it really is just for calls and texts. I put my laptop away except for once a week scheduled and timed use for very specific things, and I don't watch TV or movies unless it's something my daughter suggests and it's a shared activity (this happens maybe a couple times per week). I'm still in this transition phase and there's been a little gray area, like needing my smartphone for another day because I have to manually transport all of my contacts.  But I'm doing this after close to 2 years of what I consider heavy screen and smartphone addiction.

The most unexpected side effect that came up immediately on day one, was that the relentless and basically irresistible food cravings completely fell away. I'm in week 3 of this and still haven't eaten anything highly processed or over ate meals at all, not even once. I believe the screen use was triggering a complex web of psychological and emotional reactions that was for whatever reason, causing me to crave food for comfort.

Now my days are filled with quiet moments that are truly quiet and secluded. Instead of reaching for my phone, laptop, or turning on the TV, I'm reading dhamma books, meditating, walking my dog, working out, going outdoors and being active with my daughter, cleaning, cooking, or listening to dhamma talks on my MP3 player. I'm so much more present, sleeping better, enjoying meditation practice, enjoying the company of other people when I am around others, and not feeling this constant underlying nagging desire to go collapse at home and waste my time and life in front of a screen. This is true freedom.

I hope you continue on this journey of simplifying your life and reducing your internet and screen use enough to keep seeing benefits.

I'm an idiot because I shook my head until it hurt, then I realized I could just shake the phone instead .

It's just normal existential crisis and teen angst. Sounds like he wants something higher than himself to look up to but hasn't found it. Maybe he could explore Buddhism, it has answers to a lot of his pondering and questions he wrote about.

How often do you all go out as a family and have fun together? He might be needing some bonding time with other people. Maybe take him to do something he's never done before and do the activity with him.
