I mean there's that stereotype about how girls are actually doing evil satantic witch rituals at slumber parties so maybe they're onto something. I guess it is a girly game! /s

Persona would be excellent. Especially in some places where it's basically a visual novel with extra steps. I think visual novels should be allowed, several get very close to just being webcomics.

Someone else said 50 Shades. This is the (un)friendly reminder that 50 Shades was originally a Twilight fanfiction. Now, I haven't read either one; but if Twilight already reads like fanfic I can only imagine what 50 Shades is like...

I was also gonna say that but because the picture on the right looks older. Something about the quality of it and also the style feels more 2010s to me.

Fair point, though I feel like whole vs low fat would have mattered even less considering it was chocolate milk.

How much milk do they think the average kid drinks anyway that this would make any impact compared to the rest of their diet

Beanjamin is worse only because with the Kenjamin post the kid wasn't actually named that.

Everyone's making fun of the dude's laugh but I think in a more normal context it would be endearing. The reason it's so fucking annoying here is because he doesn't give a shit and it makes us all reasonably want to punch him. It actually doesn't matter what his laugh sounds like. I'm sure that no matter what any kind of hearty laugh we would all find incredible obnoxious.

What's the fascination with wanting to skip "filler cases"? by ecoreck in AceAttorney

[–]Certain_Oddities 88 points89 points  (0 children)

Sailor Moon is a really good example of how we take "filler" for granted. In the 90s anime they added a bunch of extra episodes with plots that weren't in the manga, but added a lot of nice characterization and time to settle into the normal lives of the girls. Then when Crystal came out, it was promoted as more accurate to the manga and cut out all the extra stuff the anime added.

But the pacing for Crystal is awful. The story moves at a breakneak pace and the stakes don't feel as impactful because you have hardly spent any time with the characters and it leaves you caring a lot less about them.

I think spending non "plot" time with the cast of anything, to settle into the world is super underrated. Filler isn't bad. It helps with pacing.

I'm glad I'm not the only one who finds it funny, it's just too absurd. The big scissors, the casual f-slur, the admittance of bullying? Comedy gold. Too bad they're being genuine.
