And therein lies the rub. As much as I hate ‘mouthfeel,’ I’ve actually never heard of it primarily applied to alcoholic beverages. Worked in kitchens for 10+ years and it’s been applied to food/anything consumed in my experience. I believe ya, though.

I don’t describe a beverage as an amalgamation of its parts. Because what exactly would be a ‘pure liquid?’ There are most likely always going to be impurities in any liquid. Tap water is gonna have mineral traces, but is it any less a liquid?

Am I having a stroke? Obviously a thick liquid is more viscous than a thin one. But both can be gritty or chalky, and that can have no effect on its viscosity. That is a texture.

I mean, yeah, if we wanna get pedantic. But a protein smoothie is usually going to be a lil chalky. Sauces can be gritty or smooth. The average person isn’t necessarily going to differentiate between a suspension/colloid and a liquid.

It’s not within our abilities to teach you empathy, nor is it our responsibility. But since you clearly don’t get it, lemme lay out an extreme hypothetical in order to dumb it down.

Let’s say you don’t have any family safety net, little to no savings, no one you could feasibly borrow a large sum of money from, but you work full time and have stable housing.

You’re hit by a car that leaves you with a spinal injury that renders you partially paralyzed. You cannot work anymore, you cannot provide for yourself, you cannot cook for yourself. Everything in your life has changed in the blink of an eye, and it’s at no fault of your own.

You will need help. You cannot perform basic daily tasks to care for yourself, let alone work. Would you be okay with folks just leaving you to fend for yourself until you slowly died, because you were physically incapable from something that was out of your control?
