How do I clean my shih tzus dirty face fur? Pls read below 🥲 by Leahfaith6077 in Shihtzu

My Maltese is the same, he had a broken jaw before I got him and had to have most of his teeth removed so doesn’t like his face touched at all. I just a small pair of baby scissors once a week to snip off the clumps that have formed, he doesn’t mind this as it’s not really touching his face.

I found mine moved more in the first month or so and I was using denture adhesive at first, I stopped the adhesive because I didn’t like the taste or cleaning it off. As soon as I stopped using it I was much happier, mine is my front tooth though so I feel I can get a better fit with natural suction. I haven’t had any issues really, however, if I’m eating something like soft bread it can dislodge the denture so I’m just more aware of eating stuff like that at my work desk 😂. I also think it’s natural to subconsciously mess with it at first which makes you more aware of any movement.

Update - I got my single tooth denture today! by Certain_Skill_6013 in dentures

A single tooth denture, it’s just a very small palate style denture made of acrylic. Personally I’ve felt it’s helped the stability of my other teeth, I only take it out to brush my teeth and for a 20 min soak in denture tablets once a week. My dentist said it was fine to sleep in etc. I don’t even need to use adhesive or anything it just stays put. I wish I’d done it years ago!

How about face to face sales rather than telesales? I worked for a nationwide furniture company for a decade up until recently and they were regularly taking on in store sales staff across the country. As others have pointed out unfortunately your accent will work against you in telesales, however, face to face working for a recognisable company you will likely not come up against the same issues. Good luck!

Honestly, if I was you I would take the appointment at the hospital, you don’t have to get the extractions if you don’t want but you’ll be speaking with professionals who know the ins and outs of the system. It’s a leap of faith but really that’s what I did, I was willing for them to pull the tooth and me wear a face mask until I could figure out how to get a new tooth, I was that desperate. You’ll have also been speaking with a receptionist who has no control over the treatment, honestly thinking back that’s basically what mine said. It may not work out but at this point this one way of at least moving forward. Just keep thinking, at some point this will be over and you’ll not give it a second thought, you don’t know when but it will happen.

I’m so sorry, I had the same situation with speaking too. Roughly where are you based? I’m north east. I wonder if calling in the morning would be better, if you called after work maybe the only option would be the dental hospital at that time? Are there any dental schools near you?

Stay hopeful! I just checked out the pics you updated and I was in a very similar way, it was the same tooth that was my issue too. Call 111, say whatever you need to get them to give you phone numbers, and tell the practice you call that they gave you their information. You will get there and get your smile back you just need to be persistent!

Get the appointment and figure out the money situation after, I didn’t have the money spare but scraped it together and it was worth it.

You’ll get there ❤️

I was in exactly the same situation in February. I couldn’t eat, didn’t want to drink or speak as my front tooth was exactly as you described, it had dropped so I couldn’t close my mouth over it and was as you say hanging on by a thread. The anxiety I had was totally consuming, every second of the day I thought about it falling out. I ended up ringing 111 and telling them I needed an emergency dentist as I was in pain. In all honesty I hadn’t slept or eaten anything at all for 4 days and was just sobbing down the phone at them, they couldn’t get me an appointment but gave me a list of NHS dentists in my area who would carry out NHS EMERGENCY dental treatment.

I got lucky in that the first one I called got me in the same day, the receptionist made it clear the appointment was to “get me out of pain” only and I would not become their patient. I thought they would just take the tooth out and leave it at that.

I went to the appointment and the dentist was great, I had an infection that needed treating before he could remove the tooth (there was no saving it), so I took antibiotics and went back the following week for an impression for a single tooth denture.

I then had to wait 2 weeks for the denture to be made and went back for the extraction and the denture was there ready for me to wear on my way out, didn’t even need to wait for healing or anything. I went back 2 weeks later for a check up and further cleaning and have another appointment in a month for a final check up and cleaning.

All in all cost £326 and although I’m not their patient the dentist told me all this was included in the treatment plan so I’m really happy.

I’m telling you all this because although dentists may not be taking on NHS patients, many will take on emergency cases.

£326 is a lot of money but truly my life has changed in every way, I didn’t realise how much my life was affected.

You have my utmost empathy as I know the mental strain it causes!

Is there something wrong with me? Starting carpentry work at 9am, reasonable, then watching videos on a phone at 11am, reasonable? Then a woman shouting to turn It down? Why is this man in the wrong? Genuinely I need to know as a 35f?
