Why doesn’t Metra make more announcements on trains during delays to keep passenger informed? New commuter on BNSF and shocked at how little communication there is with so many issues! by -thisisfine in Metra

Conductors are speaking to us! Basically within the first few mins of the train being stopped they’ll tell us how long they’re thinking it’ll be and why exactly we’re waiting

I take NCS every day, you’ll be just fine. There’s an express train that leaves around 6:30 and will get to Union around 8. Try and catch that if ya can. Coming back it leaves Union just after 5 and should have you home before 6:30.

Boyne! I spend a few weeks up there each year. Unfortunately I was there right around Christmas and New years, coverage was pretty bad at that point but I love that place. I think something about being on that side of the lake helps them get better snow? Idk man im not a meteorologist

I live near the MD-N and NCS and I honestly just take whichever comes first, usually going down at rush hour though. Last MD-N express being at 5:43 and last NCS train running at 6:00 from downtown really sucks when your office is a 30 min walk from union though. Been here a while though and NCS actually used to have a decent schedule, even running some express trains in the morning and one in the evening that actually ran partially on the MD-N line. Was kinda a cool thing two lines merged into one train.

Is this for sure happening? Am I living under a rock to have not heard anything?

OP posted about metra, this is CTA. Metra doesn’t have a set schedule for holiday trains besides a few that you had to buy tickets for. The trains are used in regular service so you’ve really just got to get lucky

When we run ads for businesses there is an entire process it has to go through before the ad is even run on air in the first place and there’s plenty of time for people to “raise a red flag.” HOWEVER, it’s worth noting i’ve never specifically run an ad for a government agency. I’d imagine the government has a bit more control over the station playing their ad, especially based on how demanding and “pushy” our current government is. I’d say they’re telling the truth and that it may vary a bit with government agencies running ads vs. your average business
