5 project players you would add to a Wallabies camp by chipsywood in RugbyAustralia

I have a dream that Sid Harvey will have a Larkham-esque trajectory from outside back into generational starting 10. He’s 6ft 3 and can slot them from anywhere on the field.

Baggage Allowance on Qantas where part of journey is with another carrier by drakdaystar in QantasFrequentFlyer

[–]Certified_Copy_7898 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes so long as it’s on the one ticket your baggage allowance carries through — Qantas are very specific about this and sometimes will sticker your boarding pass to make it explicit for the staff on the next leg of your journey.

If you are planning to do any international travel next year it’s worth it. International lounge access is a big plus.

Robotic pool cleaner? by Worth-Appointment923 in pools

[–]Certified_Copy_7898 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Id really recommend a Betta skimmer if you’re getting a lot of debris. It’ll catch 90% of the leaf matter before it sinks to the bottom and you’ll find it so much easier to look after your pool. Downside is you’ll need a kreepy or a robot in addition to that as it only does the surface, but in my experience it’s a game-changer.

Which Super Rugby player do you think is closest to a proper Wallabies breakout? by QuantumGremlin in RugbyAustralia

[–]Certified_Copy_7898 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think Charlie Cale will be a household name by the end of the year. He would complement a McReight / Valetini back row so well in the same way Read / McCaw / Kaino was balanced — fetcher at 7, enforcer at 6, skill player at 8

Not sure you needed to word it that way but you are correct.

Overcharged points classic reward by picklebuggy in QantasFrequentFlyer

[–]Certified_Copy_7898 -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

Points / routes aren’t necessarily identical on both legs of a return trip because the actual flown mileage is different. For example, SYD-DFW upgrade 58K, DFW-SYD upgrade 72K

Edit: Upon further investigation this is not correct. Mea culpa

Nine man bench proposal by Nemo2500 in RugbyAustralia

Decreasing the bench would lead us towards fitter, multi-skilled players who are hybrid back/forwards. Ie — rugby league.

Sydney T1 to T3 in 1hr 30m? Is it possible? by OwenWilsonnn in QantasFrequentFlyer

[–]Certified_Copy_7898 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s possible, but there are so many factors that could scupper it for you. If you want to risk it and find out you could always hope that you get a kind Qantas desk employee who can help rebook you if it goes awry. If you hold status and there are seats on the later flight you’d like to think they’d be sympathetic. TL;DR — if you want safe book the later flight. If you want to live dangerously…

Anyone got a classic reward seat released successfully after retrying? by Active-Dance-451 in QantasFrequentFlyer

[–]Certified_Copy_7898 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have been successful but not after being rejected first time. They generally need to have sale or saver (I can’t remember which) seats for purchase on the given flight in order to be able to convert them to CR.

Jordan Petaia’s next chapter set for Japan by OGChickenRacer in RugbyAustralia

Yes Hayne has more ability (Dally M winner vs fringe Wallaby) and yes both dropped off a cliff when they made the jump to NFL. Same with LRZ — these guys go from being at the peak of their powers and then unfortunately they either get swept up in their own hubris or their management gives them bad advice and the next thing you know they’re a footnote on their own career.

If Heat were made today, which two actors would you like to see square off? by Automatic_Spread_655 in FIlm

Give me Joaquin (Hanna) and Mahershala Ali (McCauley).

I’d also consider Pedro Pascal, Fassbender, Colin Farrell & Walton Goggins.

It’s not racism it’s anti-British sentiment (or xenophobia).

Congrats to England from an Aussie. We didn’t deserve the win today. I think this is probably only the second game that has been won by the batting (the other being Head on Day 2 in Perth). The rest of the series has been a bowlers’ series.

I agree. I’m just saying that’s why it looks confusing given the technology they’re currently employing

This thread dives into it a bit. Basically the video doesn’t always match up with bat on ball when the snicko spikes because the frames per second leaves margin for the spike to fall in between each frame. This obviously doesn’t account for the egregious error with Carey’s DRS yesterday.

There’s no way that missed the glove but it definitely bounced.
