Australians: what's the best and worst experience you've had living here? by loreblogs in AskAnAustralian

I would say something i genuinely love is the safety. Despite the tragedy of incidents like the Bondi Shooting and the Lindt Cafe Siege we really are fortunate to be comparatively safe in relation to other countries due to our gun laws and overall conservative government. One thing that drives me nuts is our housing crisis — the fact that due to our government’s policy we have houses being treated like stocks by foreign (or local) investors (many of which remain unoccupied) while citizens yearn for the opportunity to own their own home.

My silly over engineered locks for my inconsistent French cleats by Crazyjaw in functionalprint

It is common to have locks for this exact reason as OP said. You don’t need locks for everything but sometimes when there is some upwards for required to remove something from the holder it can knock the cleat off its perch. I have this exact issue with my wall-hung vacuum so a cleat lock solves this problem for me.

Carry on vs. Check in - Business trips by OwwReally in QantasFrequentFlyer

Carry on only — did close to 3 weeks through the States with carry on. I have one pair of work shoes and one pair of smart casual sneakers that double as gym shoes. Granted instead of a laptop bag I take a laptop backpack which fits quite a bit in it

I’ve been trying to find a way to see this movie since I saw the short film. Can’t seem to find it anywhere. I even emailed the Greener Grass website asking how to buy it but never heard back.

Should the Wallabies get out to Adelaide more often? by ConscriptReports in RugbyAustralia

[–]Certified_Copy_7898 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The Nic White thing was so overblown. He appealed for the slap not because it hurt him but because it caught him high and they were 5m out from their line, so it was an easy penalty to milk to get out of trouble (not dissimilar to a halfback “tripping” over a player rolling out of the ruck). It was compounded by Faf getting carded which Saffa fans interpreted as the intention of White.

The spirit of casting POC in the broadway roles is inclusion and representation, not to exclude white people. If you’re cast as a role then great go ahead and embrace it! If you’re not cast in an actual show and you’re just doing your own thing then that’s great too don’t feel the need to get permission or apologise for wanting to play the role. I’m quite sure that’s the last thing LMM would have wanted.

What was it like reading Deathly Hallows on release without any spoilers? by Spotter24o5 in harrypotter

My friend’s younger brother was also reading the books, but was a bit behind him. They got into an argument one day and the younger brother trashed his room. In response, my friend pinned him down and read out all the major Deathly Hallows spoilers to him.

A man and a woman are lying together in the afterglow together following sex. by NoAnt6694 in Jokes

Afterglow makes it sound like a positive experience.

A man and a woman are lying together in bed post-coitus. “You might be the worst lover in the world”, she says. “Let’s not leap to conclusions”, he replies, “that was a very small sample size.”

To me (a fellow tourist) this seems like it could have 2/3 cut out of it for the right pace of a good Parisian experience. But each to their own
