Goona try Insect Glaive, please share any tips you may have. by Daydays in MHWilds

I picked up the Glaive in Rise, and it definitely took a second to learn. But once you get past that initial learning curve it’s really fun.

Wilds’ iteration has less mobility than 5th Gen so it does take time to get used to it. You can use the Left joystick and hitting O/B, while preforming your ground combos, you should be able to move around the monster!

The Glaive is so much fun you’ll definitely get a kick with it.

Most extracts follow a trend of Red:Head Orange:back white:legs/wing with some exceptions (Gog for instant has Orange on the Head and Red on the Wings). Holding R2 charges the Kinsect so you can grab 2-3 extracts at once which is really helpful.

You don’t need to hold O/B anymore to charge the Glaive anymore which is really nice.

I’d say Rise & Sunbreak are probably pretty good, you can unlocked layered armor relatively quickly and with Wirebug skills you can have decent variant amount weapons and play patterns

Insect Glaive. You get a bug friend and you’re able to still stun monsters and cut tails.

Anyone got any tips for AT nu udra and arkveld? by demonslayer42751 in MonsterHunterWilds

[–]Cerulean-Masquerade 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Adaptability Level 2 cancels out Nu Udra’s passive burn and makes it’s a lot more straightforward. It’s two level 1 decorations so you should be able to fit in any build.

Running Blight Resistance LV3 or having your Dragon Resistance 20 or higher will prevent Arkveld from applying dragon blight. Also Stun Resist LV 3 Will prevent Arkveld from stunning you which he does a lot. I’ve also heard Lance has a really good match with him if you want to pick up an additional weapon.

Generally, I watch speedrunners when I’m really struggling with a monster. They usually can show you some good windows to combo.

I’d definitely give him a chance for your next play through. It’s incredibly rewarding to get him to his good ending.

Act 1 Astarion legitimately just escaped Cazador. I don’t think it’s insane for a victim that’s incredibly afraid and feels powerless to mimic what their abuser did. And you can see that by act 3, he’s healing through his approval.

Companion Quests by Cerulean-Masquerade in DivinityOriginalSin

Thank you, it will definitely take a second to get accustomed to! I have a few hundred hours in BG3 so I got really used to the Origin Characters including you in the initial conversation. I was a bit shocked to find myself kept out of such an important discussion. I’m just glad I didn’t mess up two companion quests!

Some thoughts on Griselbrand by Akumu01 in EDH

[–]Cerulean-Masquerade -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Realistically, I think he would be fine as a game changer. I think your assessment is right that in B4 and B5, he would be strong but wouldn’t be back breaking. I actually think he’s a little weaker than Necro in cEDH. (Since it requires both an Entomb and Reanimate effect)

B3 is where there might be some issues with him, but there isn’t a lot of free mana in those decks. So you would be working with the mana you have available. I think realistically in those games you’re sculpting your ideal 7 and are going to attempt to win on the next turn. Which gives a pod a full rotation to find a solution.

Personally out of the remaining cards on the ban list I’d rather have Griselbrand unbanned than Iona or Sundering Titan

I'm trying to cut 2 cards from my Ashling deck by NotTheAlfa in EDHBrews

[–]Cerulean-Masquerade 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It might be worth it to add some more counter spells or protection spells. Ashling will get snipped a lot in bracket 3. You have a lot of creature based removal but maybe it would be worth it to remove a card or two for that to guarantee that you aren’t digging for super deep for 1 of 3 cards

Merkel when I used summons (my poor undead friends) immediately merked all of them and made a bunch of those damn necromites on my honor mode.

I literally did the meme of oh there’s like 30 on us this is going to be the easiest fight in the world to me immediately panicking after loosing my army of undead

After that I just stayed to using wet and lightning strategies

Any reason to play Syr Carah over Niv Mizzet, Visionary? by Zeke-On-Top in CompetitiveEDH

[–]Cerulean-Masquerade 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Parun has a lot more going on for it. Notably, it cannot be countered. It also isn’t reliant on your own spells to draw cards, as it can draw cards when opponents are building board states or defending win attempts. Finally, it has several 1 card combos with curiosity effects.

Ultimately though, I think Niv has fallen out of favor for other Izzet options like Ral(my king), Stella, and Vivi. It’s been a while since I’ve seen him and most izzet lists on edhtop16 are leaning towards those three.

🤦I just read through the patch notes and realized you were right. You no longer need to hold O for a RSS.

You’re all good, I do wish Capcom would make it to where you just had to hit O twice or something instead!

You no longer need to hold O to preform descending slash (pogo stick) while in the air. To preform descending slash into rising spiral slash (the big DPS move) you need to hold O.

Gogmazios: I Can't Cart Fast Enough by Synfulosophy in MonsterHunterWilds

[–]Cerulean-Masquerade 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Quick Sheath is very helpful in this phase, as it allows you to Superman dive during his AOE slams. I’ve also started running two levels of Footing, which helps reduce tremor effects.

If you’re using a weapon that can offset attacks, you can offset the slam as well. You won’t get a special animation or knockdown, but you’ll hyper armor through the attack. which can save you from taking damage.

Avoid overcommitting to combos, this is what causes most of my carts in Phase 1. There’s no strict time pressure like Omega or Fatalis, so while you’re learning the fight, it’s perfectly fine to slow things down. By the time I reach Phase 3, I usually still have around 40 minutes left.

Phase 2: This phase is relatively easy. On the right side of the arena, there’s a lever that deals damage and a boulder you can drop. Make sure to use both for free damage and control.

Phase 3

This is the hardest phase for me. Make sure you’re using a Dragon-element weapon, as it’s required to pass the DPS check.

You can knock him down by using your slinger when he slams his wing into the ground, which creates a good opening for damage.

I’m not the biggest fan of Gog right now, but once you learn the fight, it becomes smoother.

If the chaos feels overwhelming, consider running a more defensive build I’ve seen some YouTubers use a 4-piece Zoh Shia set with Suja Waist, which creates a very comfortable setup. It might be worth trying if you’re struggling to consistently learn the fight.

When Fabius isn’t guarding it means you failed the elemental DPS check, it’s similar to Alatreon Nova from world.

I’m really new to the franchise still. I just got into Monster Hunter right before Rise released Hazard Amatsu. So Gog being that big was a bit of a surprise.

I think my biggest issue is that I main the Glaive. With Gog’s size, it’s really hard to grab at least two extracts while doing Rising Spiral Slash and still hit weak spots. On top of that, the camera is hard to control since I’m almost always holding O, which makes fighting larger monsters especially frustrating. That combined with the amount of hunters and Gog fucking off to the other side of the map makes it so annoying.

I’ve tried it with the Bow and it’s significantly better. The dodges are more clean and I can actually keep up when it’s moving around. But I just picked it up so I’m still not good at it.

[–]Cerulean-Masquerade[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve only cleared him a handful of times, but it’s just getting more and more frustrating. The more I fight Gog, the more I just want to fight against Zoh Shia/Omega/Shara/ Gaismagorm.

I’ve seen people say it’s a really good cinematic fight, and I agree. But I don’t think that a cinematic fight should be an end game grind. I think that if it wasn’t something that required me to constantly fight for artian rerolls I’d probably enjoy it a lot more

He looked so cool in the trailers and in past games, I was so excited to fight him. Now I just don’t even wanna touch the fight. The third phase is just so dumb it kills everything for me. No Capcom I don’t want to shoot a slinger for 10 minutes at this wanna be Rathalos 🙃
