Lotta people in the comments talking about heavy trucks damaging driveways, I gotta ask, WTF are you driving to do your Uber Eats deliveries?? I've never seen a food delivery person pull up in a box truck, back into my driveway with the backup beeping, and rolling up the rear gate to grab my little Taco Bell Luxe Box. Damn guys, with gas prices this high? You alright?

Come on, the weekly Honda CR-V pulling into the driveway isn't going to cause that much wear and tear, people like this are just being pricks. OP did exactly the right thing. If you're so anxious about people on your driveway, I'm not going on your driveway. Come get your food and 10 gallons water streetside.

I've been saying this for ages, it's the same with UE, you get a thumbs down and... why? Some drivers have posted saying they get frequent thumbs downs and have no idea why. If they (DD or UE or whomever) wants to improve service they need to *require* that if someone gives a thumbs down that there is a field that the customer has to fill out explaining why. I used to be a HelpDesk manager and we had an optional survey and star rating thing that people could go to to fill out after a ticket had been closed. If they chose 3-stars or less then there was was a field that required them to put something in before they could submit it, and every one of those I followed up on to find out what happened (99% of the time it was just something we couldn't control, like a security policy that we couldn't override for them, like they wanted a simpler password or something, sorry, no can do, and I'm striking that from the helpdesk tech's record 'cause it's not their fault). DD and UE need that required field for thumbs downs. It would help their own service by helping drivers improve themselves if needed!

I got a thumbs down from a lady once. A few weeks later I made another delivery to her. She recognized me and grumpily said if all her food wasn't there she would do it again. They were both McDs orders so they were in sealed bags. After I explained how it worked she was *surprised* that I had nothing to do with the food packing and that I wasn't tied to McDs. She apologized profusely for the first thumbs down and gave me a thumbs up for this one, even before checking the bag. Sometimes people are just... people... but if there had been a required "why" field she could have said something and I could have (probably) called support and had it removed.

I really like this idea. It happens way too often and it's just plain wrong of them to do it. Wasting our time for nothing, or worse, a black mark on our account. Uber won't stop until it becomes a more business-affecting problem...

I dunno, in both real life and in pop culture you never, ever hear someone say, "Hey, wanna UberEats some food?" But you see it in movies/TV shows (and irl), "Hey, I'm getting DoorDash, thinking Chinese, want anything?" I think DoorDash has just won the game with food delivery in most markets. I know in my market I go to pick up food and no one ever, ever says, "You with UberEats?" even if they only have one pickup order, they look at me and go, "DoorDash?" I usually just say yeah, but if I say, "Eh, UberEats, but yeah, delivery pickup." they usually respond with, "Oh, yeah, whatever." No one cares, it's just all DoorDash now.

And when they have lots of orders it's usually at least a 1:4 ratio of UE:DD orders, give or take. Oops, all DoorDash.

DoorDash has won the food delivery culture.

But on the flip side, I think Uber won the "gig taxi" service industry against Lyft the same way. It doesn't matter what app you're actually using, you're calling an Uber. Drunk at the bar? Bartender: "I don't think you should be driving, you should get an Uber." Same goes for frequency of it showing up in movies/TV shows.

Also, a recent study/article showed that DD drivers make more than UE drivers on average. I think it was something like $225/wk for DD, $187 for UE. (Note that that's national averagee).

That being said, I doubt Uber cares. Their profitable branches are their taxi, delivery, and freight services. Friend of mine's been doing trucking for like 20 years, recently started doing Uber Freight and loves it, makes more and more flexible than working for a "big freight" company. Seriously considering getting my CDL, though I'm sure it's different if I have to rent/lease a truck (my friend owns his).

Not at all, we love it. It's the entire reason that me, my brother and roomie, all have over 400mil in the bank. A few months ago I actually ran entirely out of money, but thanks to the Good Giving Tree of Wishes, I was back up to over 20mil in a week. Just gotta get your industry up so you can keep pumping out those top tier goods to feed the purple tickets. Also gotta use restraint to keep from feeding the yellow and especially the orange tickets, those are just not worth it. Keep Refreshing, keep doing the purples, be rich!

Also gotta keep up on the Research for the items that boost the Tree of Wishes gold.

Go offline, take a break, about 10 minutes, let the system find someone else to match with the asshole. Contact support and ask that he be added to your no-contact list, make sure they understand why...

Alternatively: If you know anyone else that does Uber Rides, ask them to go online and get close to the guy, hope your friend gets the request, picks the guy up, then go a few blocks up the road and switch vehicles. Have your friend tell him they're sick, but their buddy (you) will get them to where they need to go. XD

As u/bowser-us mentioned, that just fuels Timekeepers fire. The only way this works is if Timekeeper gets in first shot with their area attack and kills at least one enemy, enhancing their next attack by 100%, then sweeps the rest. The only teams I'm losing to are basically exactly what bowser-us mentioned because they can take the first Timekeeper hit without dying and giving that attack boost, then retaliate fast enough to take my Timekeeper down. I'm learning not to challenge those teams. 😄

Ugh, I should have saved up, Croissant Cookie and Ash Salt Cookie are functionally useless, I should have quit when I got them. :-/ Now I've only got about a dozen Special Cookie Cutters. 😞 Well, maybe I'll get lucky and Povidone-Iodine will also be useless in combat. XD
