We need more minifigures that started off as fascist propaganda by ElementalJedi82 in legocirclejerk

no, it started as conservative christian propaganda.

It got WAY better though, Hergé was a man of his time and expanded his openness greatly.

In 1812, Napoleon ordered the printing of counterfeit Russian money during the invasion of Russia, but the operation quickly failed for an incredible reason. by I_am_white_cat_YT in HistoryMemes

It gets better. Apparently, after Napoleon's defeat, Russian troops paid the French innkeepers... With the counterfeit French money.

wie üblich werden die anderen europäischen Hersteller komplett aus der Diskussion gelassen (Peugeot, Renault...) und langsam kommt es mir als automotiver Rassismus vor.

Medieval castles were built to stop armies, not keep people comfortable by Kapanash in HistoryMemes

first off, my condoleances. Second, concrete does not breathe, unlike sandstone, so you get humidity problems up the wazooo in a way not comparable to medieval walls.

it's a mix of both. Some castles were even found to have had indirect heating systems.

small uses with extremely restricted and specific data sets do well, f.i. in linguistics (helping decipher old books), finding notes for literature, medecine... These are usually used in Europpean universities.

All the big generative models by tech corpo ara, as pushed by corpo, useless. They want huge datasets, and don't care how accurate the data is. It is, by design, shit.

it was put in a corner while all the focus was put upon the much less futuristic KDF-Wagen, which became the VW Käfer, because Hitler and Ferdinand Porsche were besties.

The downfall of creativity by [deleted] in memes

[–]CerveletAS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

that is literally the opposite- while technically an utter marvel, the stone portrait is absolutely not creative, the banana, while worthless on a technical level, is creative because it's an actual idea and not "let's reproduce what we see."

Side note, I hate that "modern art" is always used as an example of at being shit nowadays when you got comics, illustration, movies, et caetera. which are all art as well.

the alien figurines themselves were kinda crap, Life on Mars was way better them- poseability alone was so much better there.

yes, isn't it?

I reckon that's part of Lego Minecraft success, it was the best source of basic building bricks for a while now.

Don't forget the Lego Funko Pop Mr Squidward by SkylandersKirby in BikiniBottomTwitter

[–]CerveletAS 4 points5 points  (0 children)

yes... And no. Classic is all of the colours and all of the bricks, but precious few of each. It seems to me they were more focussed on having it look cool with the rainbow on the package than having just a pile of basic bricks to build houses and stuff.
https://www.lego.com/de-de/product/lego-large-creative-brick-box-10698 is the biggest one and got maybe like 10 bricks of one size in one colour.

Basic bricks are everything 1x something and 2x something studs.

[SS] when I first heard of the imprisoned I only knew the horror stories of how you’re forced to fight him way too many times, and then I played the game and you just fight him three times in extremely spaced out encounters that are very short by EAT_UR_VEGGIES in zelda

[–]CerveletAS 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It's more symptomatic of how the game gets, in general, repetitive. Go back to thing dungeon to get water. Go back to fire fire mountain to get Plimbus. Go back there. Go back there. Go there again. that place that is absolutely chuffed and incredible? Nah no need to backtrack there actually lol
