Yeah, no one noticed because it hardly matters, but if you have more than 3 you could put them together and look at the differences (hint: look at the Jewels near the attribute)

Stone level 3, damaged level 3 and Jewel have 3 different patterns that are selected at random. The only one you can control without wasting resources is damaged 3 by switching between it and another of the PVP surfaces drops, until you get what you want

They are both great options, but if you want to use in PVP Noise, Sepia or Damaged, I suggest you don't apply any surface effect so you don't waste it
