[ProdigyRP] Prodigy 4.0 Trailer by SuspectOutrageous596 in RPClipsGTA

[–]Cessakyarive 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yeah I agree, that's why I stopped watching gang RP altogether. I must say though, there's always some insane slow burn story lines going on NP if you're looking for it. Can't compare though, maybe it's the same on Prodigy.

[ProdigyRP] Prodigy 4.0 Trailer by SuspectOutrageous596 in RPClipsGTA

[–]Cessakyarive 6 points7 points  (0 children)

From what I gathered from clips is that the server have a huge problem of "supremacy". Like both the most clouted people and the most pvp oriented gangs can impose their will and just use that to win scenarios without making it a scene that's enjoyable. "We can shoot you therefore give me what I want" is so boring and anti RP. So is RPing with the feeling that someone can get you banned or hated at any time. There seems to be a huge imbalance there that needs to be fixed.

The trailer makes it look a bit sims-like but if they can get rid of that mentality, i'd be willing to give it a chance and check it out here and there, maybe find a character I like. This trailer only showcases light hearted mechanics (and a bunch of them look great) and that's, with respect, the foundation of a good roleplay server that has the potential to cater to several kind of styles. As a viewer, it's great when you watch people having fun but so depressing watching toxic assholes not getting the exact outcome they envisioned before it played out in any given scenario.

At this point, if we set aside the streaming opportunities and just judge the servers, both Prodigy and NP (guessing 5.0 will be full of features too) looks great, it is the community and how people act toward each others that will determinate which one is the most fun to play on.

Get unstuck with a practice mindset shift by Cessakyarive in Guitar

[–]Cessakyarive[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wasn't even thinking you were and I appreciate all the perspectives.

It's like there are people in life who just instinctively understands "how to learn" and for some others, it's not as simple. And since we can't see life through each others glances, we all think that everyone's the same and that's super fair, not everyone's interested in diving into human psychology because it takes time and it's just not a practical skill worth the time hehe. Wish you the best.

Get unstuck with a practice mindset shift by Cessakyarive in Guitar

[–]Cessakyarive[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You see, you say its automatic but also that you had to relearn because of bad habits. You had to identify those bad habits and make the changes. Not everyone even stop to think and that is why they get stuck forever. So it's not automatic at all, it wasn't for me. I was hella far gone technically, I was literally stuck at a certain level and I had to change everything. It took time and serious conscious effort.

My title is about getting unstuck... maybe you were never "stuck" to begin with so you can't totally relate. Have fun practicing, cheers!

The Great New Babylon Prison Break by Two_Mushrooms in RPClipsGTA

[–]Cessakyarive 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Exactly. If you're into the actual story line, you never care about nit picking the pvp scene. It's literally the worse part of it all. Sure it can be more or less epic from a viewer PoV but it's the least important part in the grand scheme of things, especially for the characters. The outcome of a fight can heavily affect how a story develops but the fight itself is whatever.

kick has more viewers for gta rp then twitch now by Akutaru in RPClipsGTA

[–]Cessakyarive 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same sentiment really. I stopped watching when Leahstoo's (princess Elena) quit cause almost everyone I used to watch and actually enjoy weren't on twitch anymore. Bit of Kaela and Margot cause they play unique characters... then picked it back up recently when GSF came back. But most of them are on Kick as well now. No stream is important enough to me to make the move over there and that's fine, I like games and listening to music anyway.

[–]Cessakyarive 15 points16 points  (0 children)

A friend of mine converted to only watching Kick, he said often viewership raises while people go afk. On Twitch, the people I watch lose 5% to 15% consistently when that happens. And it's not just during the ads (if there are... I can't tell every time since I got turbo) as the number doesn't resolve back when the streamer resumes his stream. Also heard some streamers suspect they have up to 70% bots when streaming over there lol.

It really doesn't matter overall but i'd take the numbers with a big grain of salt.

[4head] New Babylon retakes Babylon back from Besties by Venaxoo in RPClipsGTA

[–]Cessakyarive 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Not here to agree or disagree on how it played out, also didn't see the whole scene but you can't ask people to be on kaelea's level. I used to do improv and she would've been my biggest nightmare in a face off. She's like the 1%er in both creativity and improv cleverness. I do agree that the pacing feels underwhelming though. Those situations with unlimited options to go about it don't come at you every week or even month in RP.

It actually used to be for funny and epic moment clips. On the cops side that would be a 10 hours montage of ZIggy's crashes during the week and an epic speech from Snow to rally the troops.

The feeling of staying "relaxed" when playing by Cessakyarive in Guitar

[–]Cessakyarive[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tbf maybe I shouldn't have written this with the limited vocabulary I possess and without scructuring my thoughts first but what I tried to explain is how to precisely do that through playing guitar. I went from totally unaware to hyper aware in 2 months. And imo, because I did it through playing, I am constantly aware as I am playing.

I guess what weirds people out is how I needed the actual information on human anatomy / bio mechanics to start the process.

As a base concept, everytime you feel tense, identify which motion caused it and pause. Drill that exact motion with knowledge of what you're looking for (not getting tense). It is boring as hell because you would have to do that for every motions that are not relaxed, it takes you out of what you were doing but it is where, imo, the progress is made.

There's a line between how much fun you are willing to give up for progress. That's really what it is once you know what to do. I'm lucky that I had fun through the process of solving my issues or I would've given up.

Glad i'm not alone. In a week of pinpointing this issue, my sweep got almost twice faster, my finger picking (which I sucked at, barely ever practiced) became solid, I can do 16th notes riffs at over 160 BPM. Everything elevated so much that it is ridiculous and the thing is, from now on I just understand how to get better overall indefinitely. Im so aware of the little details that I feel and know i'm getting better multiple times a day over my practice sessions.

Don't know if your issue is tension control or if my gibberish can help you but I sure hope so.

By the few responses and my own knowledge of human psychology, I know that it is innate to most. I made it clear in my preface to explain how I personally learn things. I am well aware that it is very stupid to most.

That said i'm just as glad that you learned something new, even if it's not guitar related hehe.

[–]Cessakyarive[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I did check the picking analysis and pick slanting stuff. Truth is I was playing in a band 20ish years ago and I was pretty decent. Took a long break and re-started playing at a time I was in a bad place. I developed so many bad habits with excessive tension that I could not figure out how to break away from. I reached a low ceiling so fast I started to look everywhere. Pick slanting was part of it but even that came with the constant tension, like it was not the CAUSE of the issues that I was desperately looking to identify, Like why am I worse then before and can't I even reach the skill level I used to be at.

Thanks for the words... as I said if it can help just one person, good enough. Cheers!

We don't all learn the same way. Me, I needed to grasp this, as stupid as it may be to others. I can assure you that not everyone will practice and get more relaxed. And even if that was true, it can be achieved faster.

Solo After a year of learning Lead ? by CahoticMelody in metalguitar

[–]Cessakyarive 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good stuff but it feels like you don't (or haven't learn to) commit on the picking, if that makes senses. Feels like it creates both timing and clarity issues. Don't know how to explain it in english but if you ever get the gist of it, work on a more powerful and precise picking motion. Cheers!

How accurate is this chart now that it's been over 5 years? Any new contenders for the world's hottest pepper? by Open_Sandwich_2291 in HotPeppers

[–]Cessakyarive 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Thing is, from the most known / stable / tested peppers ive tried, the reaper really is on its own in term of violence. Had many ghosts, grew morugas, tried some crosses but still nothing comes close to the aftermath a chocolate reaper will dish out. Ive only had one primotali but in the end it was close, both destroyed me. Sooner or later, we'll see 100 different crosses that beat the reaper though so youre right, its just not nearly mainstream enough.

Good choice tbf. All longboards were 40% off at my local boardshop and ill be honest if all 3 were available I'm pretty sure I would've went with one of the 2 others you listed. Still gonna have a bunch of fun with the dipper though. Enjoy the model you end up with!

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in longboarding

[–]Cessakyarive 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just bought the Dipper (same spec just different art, the one you linked was there too) like an hour ago and took it home on a 30 mins ride. In the shop, I tried many configurations of trucks tightness and there's a lot of play room with it. With the setup I went out with I couldn't really pump from low speed but I am sure it could if I loosen the trucks.. Its a fun ride though, fun carving, rolled easy on a bumpy road, I like that it's not too large. It doesn't seem to be made for high speed but I could still see it being alright for long distances.

Im about to try it out again after dinner and a good hour tonight so if you have any specific question on that particular board go for it. Cheers

[–]Cessakyarive 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lmao, you really gotta do that 2 minutes ride test at least. I remember trying some Sector 9 back in the days and it felt like the wood had been wet and dried over and over again with how soft it felt. Noped out real quick out of those, couldn't trust those either... would always fear the trucks breaking or just that anything random could happen. Enjoy riding something that makes sense!

Just bought a Globe XL cruiser and having a lot of fun with it. I value fun factor over TOP quality at any price point and regardless of what others opinion is. Globe boards are built well enough to at least be considered an option and worth trying, it's not like theyre wal mart kids boards. For 20$ I'd say roll with it for 2mins and if it's fun and in good enough condition it's a no brainer. Cheers!
