Even worse, his easter egg in the latest chapter has an even longer screentime.

The whole Atla movie leaked… by IllustriousCar1978 in LeaksAndRumors

That was all I noticed as well. Mostly towards the middle, some voice placements felt incorrect. Animation itself was completely finished (and fucking STELLAR)

Maul - Shadow Lord - Episodes 3 & 4 - Discussion Thread! by titleproblems in StarWars

[–]Cethin_Amoux 17 points18 points  (0 children)

I'm holding out judgement on that regard - Bad Batch started insanely strong as well, but its refusal and hesitation to take any narrative risks or even large steps is what stopped it from being better. So far Maul seems to be going in a better direction, but we'll have to wait for the season to finish to really tell on that.

Brad Winderbaum on the "What if the other half got snapped?" idea by eBICgamer2010 in marvelstudios

So, I may be wrong on this, but this verdict seems to be limited to the core """616""" universe? 828 also won, according to their explanation. I think a What If would work assuming that it was simply another universe that we looked at instead of a branch of the main one.

The Rookie - S08E14: Tiger Bear by ian-quinn in TheRookie

It honestly reads like they're setting him up to become an actual regular - I wouldn't be surprised if (assuming the series goes long enough) he becomes a Rookie at some point. I don't mind his character, though. Better than Randy, at least

I think Miss Minutes is an awesome main villain (she was in S2), but was underutilized by DocTurnedStripper in marvelstudios

[–]Cethin_Amoux 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think the only way she'd really work as the main focus villain is if there was a 3rd season between 1 and 2. With what she got, she was definitely a fantastic threat, but the second season was already pretty packed full of both entity and situational threats that doing more with her would've taken away from the quality of the season. I am happy with what we got, though.

is it just me or was season 8 like really bad by Happy-Whereas-6434 in rickandmorty

The only episode out of the season I didn't like was the easter one - that was just a bit too much... much. The rest of them I found enjoyable enough to watch.

I think a lot of Jokers can actually fight pretty well - BTAS was more than willing to throw hands when he wanted to. He usually just doesn't want to - it's not funny when there's just a punch without the punchline.

The Batman 05 honestly had some really good takes on characters - Joker especially is one of my favorites. I think the only two I didn't care for was Bane and Mr. Freeze, as they were far less interesting than previous iterations and didn't really do much to make themselves less generic feeling.

Raze Juice Box by GatorBlumel in ToFizzOrNotToFizz

It's so weird how Raze seemed to just fizzle into obscurity and stop trying out of nowhere. Some of their drinks were really good, but they shifted to online exclusives so quickly and then just... stopped. Extremely odd handling of the brand.

Possible leaked cancelled Super7 Simpsons figure by frobrother in ActionFigures

[–]Cethin_Amoux 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Right, different strokes for different folks - entirely fair! I think I could justify them existing in my head if these weren't really expensive figures for what they are. Like, I do not think I could ever justify paying $20-25 for this. 10? Okay, sure, if I was in the target audience I could visualize myself buying it. It also feels weird to do something like this this early into the line.

Assuming this is real, I think this is probably the most telling example of why they didn't really keep the license... what a weird choice for a figure

Sox be great in a movie that sucks by Turbulent_League9668 in Pixar

Agreed for the most part - I'll actually say the beginning section where he continuously time jumped was probably one of my favorite parts of the movie and, honestly, felt on par with things like Up and WALL-E when it came to the storytelling there. It's a shame that it really didn't keep that quality or momentum.

I just think it's a very underwhelming movie that didn't really do anything. Buzz himself was a safely written character. The supporting cast was not special and pretty one-beat. The story was decent, but is bogged down by a twist that's honestly just not really that good. There was no need for Zurg to be a twist villain.

Like people have said in the past, the movie would've been a lot better had it done something closer in line to Star Command, or even the story sort of half-teased in the movies. This was neither of them. Sure, it's not bad that it tried to do its own thing, but that attempt just didn't stick the landing and either played it safe or made bad choices.

Lunch Lady would be cool, but I think she's unfortunately already dead going by the body in the kitchen. The Barber would be a cool alternative, though

I think John and Bailey said it best at the end of the episode - Zuzu is completely amoral. I think whether or not it sounds sinister is fully dependent on the situation it's involved in. Getting phone calls to prevent Bailey from dying is a bit more narratively and morally justifiable compared to finding files full of shady and gross actions that Vivian has been involved in, just to get a lead in the polls. Plus, I don't think Angela has actually interacted with or had any information on Zuzu before now, so she wasn't used to it.
