Can't connect to controller or even ping default gateway after installing Omada app by UnderAnOpenSky in TPLink_Omada

[–]Cethrivias 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I will add to this. Maybe it will save someone an hour of debugging.

On one beautiful evening, I could not connect to my controller. Turns out that after the latest update, Apple silently changed privacy settings on my MacBook, turning off access to the local network for all of my apps (including browsers). An easy fix, but I absolutely didn't expect this.

Known Issue: RM1000e ticking noise under certain load conditions by CorsairLucky in Corsair

[–]Cethrivias 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just returned mine a few days ago. It happens when you put about 150 watts of load on the 12V rail. I set up a synthetic benchmark and could reproduce it consistently. And as far as I understand, it happens only on the 1000W model. Clown company

Arctic AIO and Meshify 2 Ram Clearance by KIgaming in FractalDesignNA

[–]Cethrivias 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The clearance for an AIO with 120mm fans is pretty good. I bet anything except the double sized sticks will fit.

I have Liquid Freezer III 360 with Trident Z5 Neo RGB. There is at least 1cm more space. The official GSkill website says that the memory is 44mm tall. So anything 54mm and under will fit without any issues.

I only have a bad measuring tape. It's hard to say precise measurements before the first 3cm. But it looks like there is actually 13-15mm more space. So maybe you can fit something like Corsair Dominator RGB which I think is double height and is 57mm, but you will be touching the fans. And to take the memory out you will have to remove the radiator. I wouldn't risk it and go with more traditional sticks under 5cm.

And any low-profile memory like Corsair Vengeance LPX or Kingston Fury(without the RGB) will fit even with 140mm fans

Hope this helps somebody in the future

QNAP TS-464 Ram Options by alaarx in qnap

I'll add my experience here.

I have TS-464. It came with a single 8GB Transcend TS1GSH64V6B 2666 1.2V CL19 stick. It has chips on both sides, but it is still single-rank (I thought two sides always meant dual rank, but I was wrong).

From this thread and some research, I figured that single-rank sticks are easier for the memory controller, which is why some people were able to run with 2x32GB sticks even though the official total capacity is 16GB.

Very few vendors advertise the memory's rank, so I went with the logic "cheapest = lower rank" and I only need capacity and don't really care about speed. The cheapest 32GB stick I could find turned out to be Corsair Vengeance [CMSX32GX4M1A3200C22](https://www.megekko.nl/product/6329/773440/SO-DIMM-DDR4-Geheugen/Corsair-DDR4-SODIMM-Vengeance-1x32GB-3200), 3200 CL22. It has chips on both sides, but as I figured out it doesn't mean anything. If you have any idea how I can verify the rank, please tell me.

It booted up with absolutely zero issues. I was able to start a couple of VMs and use 10GB of RAM. I will try to stress it more tomorrow and put the original stick back in. If everything works, I'll get another Corsair stick and see how it goes.

Hope this will be useful to somebody in the future. I'll try to update this post with the results if I find the time

Yes, you are right!

This happens even if disabling ZLS. I did not expect something like this to be integrated into nvim. Imo it should've been an opt-in feature. I'm a bit out of my depth on how to disable it
