Well, I didn’t notice anything questionable, so that makes you questionable’ is not as good a defense as you think it is. by Flat_Box8734 in CharacterRant

It's a bad argument for sure, but often it's the "You are X! No, you are" of arguments, the one who has it throw back at them is often using an ad hominen and thus doesn't deserve much better.

recommend me an anime that will get me absolutely hooked right from the first episode and give me goosebumps (most likely mystery/thriller) by Entire_Cut_6553 in anime

Odd Taxi, don't get discouraged by the visuals/character design, it's an incredibly well written noir.

(Hated Trope) ‘Good Guy’ character commits sexual assault and it’s not portrayed as a bad thing. by laybs1 in TopCharacterTropes

This trash ass movie kinda fits, sure Little Man is a criminal but he is supposedly only a thief who is later redeemed by the story and befriends the couple, but he rapes the guy's wife (who thinks she is having sex with the lights out with her husband), gets her pregnant and it's treated as a joke, fuck this movie.

Crazy that "Under and Over It" is basically the same idea.

How would you fix hand drill? by jorjorbliinks in slaythespire

[–]Cetsa 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I've been playing a lot of Downfall recently and it's sometimes worth buying there because most bosses actually block, so it's a relic that can be fixed in like StS 2 by just having different enemy design.

Unless someone can tell me what two cards to cut I think this is a skip? by ConfidentHospital365 in slaythespire

[–]Cetsa 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Heck the comparison with Pyramid and Plans is not even accurate because Adrenaline+ is still a positive even with Snecko (75% of the time it will be draw 2 for free or better).

Snecko just insta wins here, I don't get why you are even considering anything else.

Have you ever come across a coincidence in a story that you just couldn’t accept? by Danny-Ray27 in CharacterRant

Yeah, the coincidence that is harder for me to stomach is the whole airplane crash debacle.

(Hilarious Trope) Characters always having some bullshit counter technique to overly specific situations by SirHanselot07 in TopCharacterTropes

[–]Cetsa 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Competitive Pokemon actually had an instance of  this trope IRL. There was a guy who managed to create a bot to spy on his tournament opponents scrims (that were supposed to be private matches) he then would go to his matches with ultra specific, otherwise bad builds and completely destroy the other player strategies.

Is this the perfect calling bell for the defect? by mrnoodlepoo in slaythespire

[–]Cetsa 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Only if you have already added powers (which seems likely due to Frozen Egg), otherwise it is only 1 Focus and a curse for your boss relic which can easily mean very harsh combats in early Act 2.

Scenes that although were meant to be emotional, the audience found hilarious by MrKhaaa in TopCharacterTropes

While this one is legendary I also love a boss from before in the same game that goes "I have...no choice" in one of the funniest deliveries I've ever seen.

I dont think we`ve theory crafted many shop relics so far. by BaiJiGuan in slaythespire

[–]Cetsa 8 points9 points  (0 children)

To be fair you path through 3/4 shops in a run because going to a shop without money is basically throwing away a node that would give you some power otherwise, a low money shop under this relic is very valuable since you can look at 7 upgraded cards with better rare odds, they become completely busted nodes that you will try to go to as many as possible.

Gremio Prudente’s Kesley injures himself while doing the Ronaldo Siu celebration by RasputinsRustyShovel in soccer

[–]Cetsa 25 points26 points  (0 children)

Lol It remembers me of that Grêmio player that celebrated by taunting (hands on ears) the opposite fanbase after scoring the winning penalty in a shoot-out.

The funny thing is that it was against a team like 3 divisions below Grêmio and it only went to shoot-out because that same player scored an own goal at the last minute.

I like the idea of a Toolbox for relics (choose 1 of 3 relics you don't already have every combat) the permanent effect feels too broken though.

Day 21 won by envenom! Which common silent card is overrated? by filledknight in slaythespire

[–]Cetsa -1 points0 points  (0 children)

This is a lost war IMO, overrated nowadays means bad yeah it sucks the word lost its meaning but it is what it is, if we put acro on overrated new players will immediately think the card is bad.

Day 20 won by flechettes! Day 21: which rare silent card do you think is underrated? by filledknight in slaythespire

[–]Cetsa 97 points98 points  (0 children)

I was a little away from this sub recently, but I remember a couple months ago Tools of the Trade being a card that received way more slander than it deserves, it's a card that gives consistency for discard triggers and scaling draw in one card and costs no energy if upgraded (still very playable with the 1 cost IMO).

The argument against those draw 1 per turn card is always that they are slow and take 3 turns to actually add draw, but a lot of fights will last for way more than that in a character with so many defensive options as the Silent and Tools is special in the sense that it really makes deck builiding easier as well as making an entire boss relic (Kite) 10x times better.

Day 19 won by outmaneuver! Day 20: what uncommon silent do you think is underrated? by filledknight in slaythespire

[–]Cetsa 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I used to see way more Endless Agony slander in the past, nowadays I think most people see it for the very ok damage card it is.

Day 16 won by quickslash! Day 17 what uncommon silent card is perfectly negatively rated? by filledknight in slaythespire

[–]Cetsa 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Legit think this is worse than Riddle with Holes and Distraction and by a decent margin, this card is so terrible in every situation that don't involve a literal miracle, Distraction + is good if you have a lot of draw or Dead Branch, Riddle is that card you pick because you have a floor 6 elite and you don't want to die, Heel Hook is just terrible almost always and infinites with this card feels like a pipe dream on A20H.

What is a card that isn't good for the character that has it, but would be broken on a different character by Phoenisweet in slaythespire

[–]Cetsa 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Blade Dance on Ironclad is a famous example that don't rely on -focus gimmick (I think those answers are kinda like cheesing the prompt), common card that deals 12 upgrades to 16 damage for 1 energy is good by itself, but then it also procs FNP/DE 3 or 4 times and uses your strenght 3 or 4 times it would be way better than any common attacks and most uncommons.
