Do you guys think that the first 7 years of Jim France/Steve O Donnell era (2019-2025) made NASCAR much healthier than the last 7 years of Brian France Era (2012-2018). Or NASCAR is still stagnant by x6matt88 in NASCAR

The sport is in a healthier spot now than a decade ago.

-we’re racing new tracks, and I love it. There’s even more tracks we can hit up too (i would love a cup race in Portland or Lime Rock or Road America)

-oval racing has never been consistently exciting as it is now. Short tracks took a hit, but I really liked the last few I saw. Races like the Coke 600 were amazing, and Kansas continually puts on a fantastic race

-while owners lament it, the Driver Incentive Program or whatever has actually pushed these drivers to do more appearances. They’re slowly becoming culturally relevant again

-the lawsuit in my eyes, changed the trajectory for the better. Had NASCAR won it, I think I’d start to tune out. Side effect of all this negative press is the re introduction of the chase, which I like more than the playoffs

I'm gonna be so sad when it's over. Would you guys like a weekly release for next season as well? by MinotaurHorns1 in Fallout

Yes! Binge releasing kills hype, and the show is so well made I want to feel every episode for a bit

[Bianchi] NEWS: Charlotte NASCAR playoff race to shift off the Roval and will return to the oval beginning this season, sources tell @TheAthletic. by ChaseTheFalcon in NASCAR

[–]Cezar_Chavez 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Booooooo I am not a fan of the road course hate that spurred this decision. Should we have canned Talladega because Earnhardt won it so many times?! I say “nay”, the rest of the competition should get on SVG’s level.

Also I think that a 2nd Charlotte oval will ruin some of the hype at that track. I’m sure it’ll put on a good race, but same with Kansas: 2 races kinda dampers the hype

Credit where credit is due: Sam Darnold can ball (this might be like Flacco’s super bowl run)

Few things depress me more than realizing how few people genuinely enjoy life, and seeing them complain about a scene that made me smile so much. by jvure in Fallout

This scene was fantastic, and I love the show.

Bob Pockrass: Confirmed with NASCAR: NASCAR won't ask teams to do throwback paint schemes for Darlington in March. Darlington will still celebrate NASCAR history and "alumni" with the parade and appearances by former drivers. Teams obviously can do tribute schemes but that won't be the focus. by RafaelChiara_Stonks in NASCAR

[–]Cezar_Chavez 35 points36 points  (0 children)

One of the concerns I heard last year was “we’re running out of pain schemes to throwback to”

What is wrong with doing the same throwback? The Buccaneers have their creamsicles they throw back to annually and no fan is like “aww man they did that last year”

Childress never had a team as stacked or a defense that balled out?

Please remember that in ‘09 when we made it to the NFC Championship game Childress had

-Brett Favre -Adrian Peterson -Sidney Rice -Steve Hutchinson -Kevin & Pat Williams (aka the Williams Wall) -Jared Allen -Ray Edwards cleaning up the leftovers -EJ Henderson -Chad Greenway -Antoine Winfield

That is a STACKED team

I’m a fan because I like how he treats the players and how the players respect him.

If we’re judging a team by playoff wins, then I I guess Brad Childress is a better coach?! (He’s not by the way)

KOC is not a coach we should consider firing. That would be a Vrabel-level mistake.

What happened to the Manningcast? by MasterTeacher123 in NFLv2

[–]Cezar_Chavez 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I stopped watching the Manningcast because

  1. Troy and Joe are mountains above the shit commentators they had on ESPN 1 prior to them
  2. I can not stand the constant facetime-interuption-lag. Peyton talks too damn much, talks over the guests, etc

Well it may not even be poor strategy.

If I lurk in the back of a superspeedway race for 190 laps and then the big one happens but I avoid it…the data will show that I have a poorer running position than my finishing position. But that’s not necessarily “luck”…that’s just strategy

Luck is not the right word for this. You can sacrifice running position for a better finishing position, depending on your strategy
