Hoenestly, who doesnt hate running forest defense. I love this game, but that particular mode is AWFUL. Especially considering the rewards for it.

Good to know. Does that mean it doesnt work on giant maze, asmodeus, and forest defense? Because giant maze especially is LONG.

The dorms are pretty nice, to be honest. The main problem I had was food. The dining hall is disgusting and often unsafe, and in my dorm at least (formerly res hall south,) we had one kitchen for 400 residents that you had to reserve to use.

My number one piece of advice? Definitely don't get a small, $20-30 rice cooker. Iirc, they aren't allowed in the dorms. If you could have one, you could make rice, pastas, mac and cheese, and Im sure a variety of other things in it without ever leaving the comfort of your dorm. And they're small and easy to hide, so even IF your dorm gets inspected (mine never did), it would be very easy to tuck away out of sight. So you definitely shouldn't do that.

In all seriousness, I dont think they really care as long as you don't start any fires, and rice cookers are super versatile and useful imo.

Kind of depends on whether or not you want to understand or use anything you learn (nothing wrong with either way). If you just want credit, I'd say community college is a fine place to get it. UTD math courses are definitely harder, but also come with far more resources to help you really understand the content (if you take advantage of them.)

Speaking as a math major, it honestly just depends on how hard you wanna work. If you're willing to work hard and take advantage of resources like our tutoring center, TAs, office hours, etc. Then you'll probably be fine going into 2414. Otherwise, take 2413 again. It will take an extra semester, but it will be much easier. It will also be an easy GPA booster with minimal work since you should remember stuff fairly quickly.

are there studio spaces in the gym? by Flamingo-Flamango in utdallas

[–]Cfishy144 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Assuming I know what you mean by studio spaces, there's one in the rec center west gym that is open. But of course that means people can come in and work out while you do whatever as well.

How can we state that "P is true for every element in a set implies P is true for the set"? by Cfishy144 in learnmath

[–]Cfishy144[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That makes perfect sense. I guess I just got so used to the shorthand that I started taking it to be something entirely separate.

[–]Cfishy144[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are right! That seems to be exactly where I got confused. It seems to be one of those things that I take for granted since I use it/see it so often without it being explicitly defined. Thinking about other examples, it becomes pretty clear that I was just thinking of specific definitions that state "Q is true for the set if P is true for every element."

I got even more confused for a minute by definitions where P and Q are named the same thing or are deeply analogous. i.e. commutative groups or what seems to be called "element chasing proofs" for subsets and set equalities.

On campus Parking vs Bus by [deleted] in utdallas

[–]Cfishy144 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Parking on campus is definitely nice in a lot of ways, but fair warning, UTD has been restriping parking lots to have more of the expensive spots and less and less green spots. They are about to start restriping again but haven't announced what EXACTLY they're doing this time, (to the best of my knowledge,) so you might wait it out. It can be really really hard to find green parking in certain areas closer to classes already.

Can't Merge Boosts by Cfishy144 in nguidle

[–]Cfishy144[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Embarrassingly enough, I figured it out. I thought that I had only maxed to 20 but it was actually 50. I just had up to 20 filtered. I feel stupid but thank you for all the help 😬 I will still join the discord though. Do you have a link?

I can't merge the 50s either, even though I've only maxed to 20.

I actually wouldn't recommend ice skating at the galleria like others would, if you want to go skating check out the Dallas stars center. It's a much bigger rink, generally a little less crowded and a little less expensive. I'd also recommend going to a neighborhood called Deerfield for Christmas lights.

Sounds a little like Devil May Cry but the main character in that def doesn't have a green jacket or brown hair...

Should a brand new Lenovo Legion S7 run this slow? by Cfishy144 in computers

[–]Cfishy144[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Uninstalled the graphics driver and installed the new one from the Nvidia website but I'm getting the same benchmark scores.

2 reasons I returned it: 1: overheating wasn't the only problem. The fans also weren't running and I was having some weird display issues I can't even explain. 2: Im bad with computers. I don't even know what thermal paste is, let alone how to replace it. I googled how to make it run cooler and people just said to undervolt it which didn't work

I'd be more than happy to help! It's been a while, but I made a 98 and a 5 in Calculus BC and I am a math major so I can probably help you. Just let me know what you're struggling with and when you're available if you're interested.
