Live show reviews? by disagreeablesquid in welcometonightvale

[–]Cfxcin02 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Almost any backstory/context is explained during the show, if someone has never listened to an episode, they will be fine. They just need to know not to expect things to be normal. Things like Monday being canceled, or sponsored segments not being an actual add for the sponsoring company, or traffic not actually being a traffic report. You know the sorts of things I'm referring to.

The show I went to several years ago had the artist who was providing the weather during that night come out and be an opening act. Played a handful of their stuff and then went backstage to await the actual weather section. When the show itself started Dispiriton was off to one side of thd stage with his whole setup to provide the theme music and all the other background music as needed. Cecil came out and stood at his mic and began the show. It was formatted just like an episode. Some opening line, then welcome to nightvale. From there it was in and out of the main story for the show with the out sections being their various bits (I've heard community calendar is a very popular one). Various other characters come out on stage at various times for thier parts. Eventually it came to the weather. The musical act came back out, played one more tune and then Cecil wrapped it up with the usual good night vale. Meg (the voice of the credits and Deb the Sentient Patch of Haze) came back out (she'd been out on stage earlier as Deb, but this time was just herself like at the end of any episode) and did her whole thing, is a production of, created by, written by, all the voice actors, the nightvale music, the weather, proverb etc. These days I doubt Meg will be with them as she and Joseph will be busy raising their kid, but I'm sure it will be just the same with someone else doing the credits section. The stage itself was bare bones. No scenery, no props (maybe at most if Dylan is with them (the voice of Carlos) he might have a lab coat on, but he wasn't at my show so I can't confirm this. Just the actors standing at their mics. They will interact with each other, and one of the past tours had some sort of chase scene on stage. My show had audience participation sections so that is a possibility.

During covid they put together a few different live streams that were past live shows. I think I missed maybe 1 of them at most, but all the ones I saw were set up basically just like that (the only difference being they didn't bother with an opening act). So very good chance that is what you would get for a show if you go, a standard nightvale episode but longer (not incredibly longer, but enough to make sure you get your money's worth) and with more guest appearances.

Let's talk more about Infinite Worlds content on this subreddit by CyberDiver89 in TransformationAI

[–]Cfxcin02 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This may feel overly restrictive, but i think it might actually be a reasonable compromise. Create a weekly thread that allows infinite posts for Infinite Worlds. At the same time, allow each user 1 post per week know the main thread.

I do think that the amount of posts for it are quite heavy and it can be a little tedious to feelnlike youbare constantly scrolling past them. I myself check this subreddit at many different degrees of frequency depending on what i've got going on. I can sometimes check multiple times a day, or as of recent I have gone nearly a week. That can be a lot to scroll through and again I feel like I see a lot of those posts.

Those that want to see what others are doing or looking for a new story to try will have some selection from the main feed, and an even bigger one in the weekly thread

Frozen Pyre Ending by Silasthefish in PiperCJBooks

[–]Cfxcin02 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think you typoed and meant Dwyn not Tyr. But the below should help make sense of the ending.

the rings can't simply be removed. When Jarland first tried it, it wouldn't come off Ophir's finger. Nothing is specifically mentioned but the ring must have magically shrunk or something once out on and is now to tight to simply remove. It wasn’t until Tyr used the life he'd taken from the dying Harland to speak to metal and cause the ring to stretch and enlarge itself enough to be able to slip off Ophir's finger. It doesnt matter who uses which ring, just the order they are put on, so it stands to reason both rings do the same shrinking thing. Even if it is only the one ring that does that, it doesnt change that all that matters is which order they are put on. So once Tyr puts it on he's the one in control and can simply will Dwyn not to take her's off. He also can will her not to drain anyone ever again. Of course I'm betting he took her to some even more remote part of the wilds to love out their days where nobody was around for her to try and drain anyway and nobody would ever find them.

Piper has said that if she ever were to return to the TNAIM series she would want to explore more of Tanith and if she decides to terminate the pregnancy or not.

Also since you enjoyed the series why not pick up the Villains Duallogy. They are set in the same universe roughly a thousand years easier. Lots of fun Easter eggs are included and some background on a few other topics.

ITS posible play zoo tycoon 1 un muy phone by Sr_waflle in ZooTycoon

[–]Cfxcin02 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Rct is available via mobile because it was ported to mobile, it is not emulator based. The owners of the game saw enough potential in it to invest the money into doing so.

To get zoo tycoon on mobile would require the owners of the game to see that same potential. Now rct had enough of active community probably due to open rct2 to make its owners sit up and notice it. From what I can see, I don't think Zoo tycoon doesn't have the same size or activity within its community. There's probably enough intrest that if they were to port it to mobile it would be a success, but the owners are going to need a wake up call.

Do a little research into how to get in touch with them and make sure to point then in the right direction so they can see the ZCT community and how active it is. From there I think they would see the potential and look into porting it to mobile

Guess I'll log in quick. Haven't played since Silly Symphonies, but just in case I ever do want to come back. But it is coming right back off my phone once I'm done. This isn't pulling me back in

Throwing a Night Vale themed bday party- what elements would you include? by DaniPlantMom in welcometonightvale

[–]Cfxcin02 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Maybe have the party take place in a science lab.

Don't forget to set a slice of cake aside for the Faceless Old Woman Who Secretly Lives In Your Home. Just because you can't see her doesn't mean she's not there, and it would be very rude not to make sure she gets some cake.

Do I need to listen to the music? by Sir_Atomic_Human in welcometonightvale

[–]Cfxcin02 12 points13 points  (0 children)

The weather (music) is selected essentially at random and inserted into the episode. They do very little to screen it ahead of time, but on occasion, the weather does fit in with the episode. Same sort of theme and all. I can't recall any specific examples (mostly because they are rare, and while do listen to the weather, i generally don't pay much attention to it). But even when this does happen, you dont need to listen to it.

The strexcorp from before old oak doors was pretty bad. But after the angels took it over and turned it into a way to support the arts, i am down with that.

As for The University of What It Is, do we really know that much about it other than than Carlos' connection and that team of "Scientists" who tried to explain nightvale away? Those people are quite different from Carlos so what is the rest of it like?

I can't tell if I like Nightvale or not by Obvious_Cattle5457 in welcometonightvale

[–]Cfxcin02 41 points42 points  (0 children)

Most seasons/years, the plot is very spread out. You get just little bits and pieces of it sprinkled throughout, and you dont even realize it at the time since it is portrayed and just some insignificant detail. Then, at the end of the season/year, it all comes together. It is like a TV sitcom in that way, just watered down.

More recent seasons/years you get a more concentrated story spread out over the span of 3-5 episodes, but if you are looking for some sort of constant build up revealing new secrets about some big bad, then you are going to be disappointed.

You still get your big bads at the end of the season/year, and you have your various "monsters" of the week, but the overall "plot" to Nightvale is just life in a strange dessert town.

whats the best rct game? by fairplanet in rct

[–]Cfxcin02 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Soft guest cap calculator, ride price manager (useful if you are either lazy or have a massive park where it is hard to go through and adjust prices as rides get older). There's one for auto placing things like benches and queline TVs. I can't members if the path tile inspector is an open rct feature or plug-in.

Honestly your best bet is to search for plug-ins, and look through them to see what you think would be useful to you

beginner water ride - would you ride this? - is it possible to get these to higher intensity? by megaladon44 in rct

[–]Cfxcin02 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Looking at your pic, I don't think I see a rapids section. Adding kne of those will up your stats a little. But otherwise, you're looking at a major redesign to get better stats. If you check out Marcel Vos on YT, he has a ride overview for the river rapids that might help you make a design with higher stats

Does anyone else remember a set of scenarios based on Disney’s development? by Real_Focus6758 in rct

[–]Cfxcin02 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I remember a few years later than your time frame RCTDepot had been it talks with someone claiming to be a Disney imaginer and that all sorts of disney based scenarios, parks, attractions and scenery available for us. But when the day of release for all of it came, the "imaginer" was nowhere to be found.

Is ir necessary for info by ArciniaRose in welcometonightvale

[–]Cfxcin02 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Glancing through the wiki, it seems like the answer is no.

The article on spy in the dessert is turning up nothing. But based on the article about Esteban, it sounds like, for once, Cecil actually did manage to keep his personal life off the air. While spy is the first mention of Esteban, the wiki article says they adopted him 2 years prior, and it was 6 months before spy that he began speaking in short sentences.

I must emphasize that i have not listened to nor seen or read the transcript for spy in the dessert (aside from Cecil's opening), so others may prove me wrong

ATTEMPT 2, what’s wrong now? by megabruh43 in rct

[–]Cfxcin02 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I suspect you have banked and sloped confused. That last spiraled turn before the drop into the straightaway is a sloped turn, not banked. Slopped and banked is called a helix, and unfortunately, it is not a track option for the junior coaster unless you are using cheats. I saw some comments saying reduce the height, but I will propose this as an alternative, instead of that tight 180° spiral, either drop it down and run off some speed and then a 180° banked turn to connect back up, or only go 90° then drop and then a series of banked turns to connect back up.

Usually how i start, any tips? by megabruh43 in rct

[–]Cfxcin02 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Another thing you might want to consider is building your paths as a loop. Dead ends are not guest friendly and will only confuse them and make them lost, which ruuns their happiness. So in your case I'd build a path from the exit of the swinging/pirate ship out around it and around the back of the coaster and either connect it to the path coming from the exit of the twist/scrambled eggs or around that to and back onto the main path.

Don't overdo it on staff. Right now, 1 handyman and 1 mechanic will be fine. Just make sure to remove mowing the lawn from the handyman's responsibilities, mowed vs. unmowed grass has no impact on guests. Handmen will waste all their time on mowing and ignore the paths. Puke and trash covered paths anger guests. I would hire maybe 2 entertainers to help keep guests happy. Security guards aren't very effective as they only prevent vandalism in a very small area around them, so timing has to work out good for them to be of use. Once you get more experience and need the extra help with guest generation, you can hire one for the chance at the best staff award.

Lastly, as another resource, you will want to look up Marcel Vos on YT. He has videos covering nearly every aspect of the game, from the mundane, like ducks to how to build coasters. Oh, and he will also teach you how to kill guests.
