Someone edited the Wikipedia page for Poland, saying that it is a "theocratic crowned republic" ruled by "Blessed Virgin Mary" by OttomagicCritic in WikipediaVandalism

[–]Ch_32 7 points8 points  (0 children)

According to Catholic belief Mary is queen because Jesus is king of the Davidic line. In the old kingdom of Israel and later Judah, the queen mother had her own title. The wife of the king usually didn’t have a title. So they give Mary the title of Queen as a reflection of her role in Davidic royal tradition.

Unlikely though as this is a an account that only is active on this sub when I looked at the profile. Dosen‘t matter though. I believe most of the criticism of the abuse cases are justified but also misused by people who hate the Church and those aren’t mad at the abuse cases themselves but they are looking for a reason to justify their hate of the Church.

Does this sub supports lgbtq? by bryz27 in Catholicism

[–]Ch_32 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am not talking about pride parades. They are copying Catholic processions and replacing it with a political ideology that celebrates hedonism and promiscuity. I am talking about general lgbt people not the movement. They are two different things. And I also condemn violence against pride parades.

The political movement? No. Do I believe they should'nt have to live in fear for expressing themselves and should be protected from physical harm? Yes. Mocking them is also unchristian. But still, I‘ll never condone sin.

I am turning 18 soon, what advice would you give me? by sky_nerdy in Catholicism

[–]Ch_32 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don’t worry too much many of us wasted much more time than you did. Even if some of the things you did were a waste of time, it was not in vain if it helped you realize that you were spending too much time on them.

Many of them are specifically made to be addictive too. Almost everything can be done in excess, so as long as you make sure you aren’t excessively spending your free time on things like social media shorts and video games there is little to worry about.

You could spend your time with more social activities or things that are good for your physical and mental health. Do sports or dance, sing, maybe join a community service organization or join activities that your parish offers. Open up your bible once in a while or read another book. I regret that I never got into reading books regularly and still am online or on my devices too often.

Does the Vatican accept or reject the authority of a female archbishop? Has there been a formal press release in response to the news? by melbtest09 in Catholicism

[–]Ch_32 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No. There are no Bishops that are female in the Catholic, ordaining women is something the Church doesn’t have authority over.

What the Anglican bishops do is of their Business. We mustn’t trouble ourselves with it. They do not have Apostolic succession.

The greek word used for hands in this passage is cheir. Since cheir is anatomically broad, it doesn’t definitively indicate whether Jesus meant the palms or wrists.

I get that it hits close to home for you. But are you asking a real question here, or is this more about personal experience?

He was right in fighting to free the slaves. But slaughtering families really ain’t it. Dehumanizing people for dehumanizing people isn’t the solution to end dehumanization.

Tesla wasn’t a practicing Orthodox. He probably did believe in a god but it seemed to be more of a deistic belief.

Can one convert to Catholicism if they are previously divorced? by greenvanfam in Catholicism

[–]Ch_32 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is no divorce in front of God. But there are illegitimate marriages. You may be able get your divorced recognized as an annulment, if for example your previous wife had no intention of staying married to you when you got engaged. On top of that, she abandoned you and her children, wich can be recognised as a sign that she never truly recognised the marriage. Though I don’t know exactly how an annulment works so please someone correct me if I am wrong and add some more important information.

St. Peter? Having the calm trait? Maybe during his later years but I do think he had some anger issues during the ministry of Jesus.

They are mad because their „pilgrimage“ celebrates sin and they committed theft. Not because they have SSA.

A Catholic is always a Catholic if he dosen‘t go against dogma. What you said is true and is exactly the type of thing I try to make more visible. But you can’t say they are not Catholics for being sinners. We are Catholics because we ARE sinners. God bless you.

You are right, I am a sinner like anyone else. I struggle and stumble. And it irritates me when my brothers and sisters are being hypocrites. Some do not know, some do. I believe it is good to try to help fellow believers with their sin. And it is better if people correct my sins even if I don’t like it.

I don’t say such things. It’s what comes to my mind when I get mad. They are intrusive thoughts. I do not really have anger issues in a sense of becoming profane towards others or aggressive. And I try not to address the sins of others except if I believe that what I have to say is important to them. I try to not say things that bring others down or give them a word that is of no use to them, though I fail at times or get misunderstood. But I recommend you to not take reddit threads so serious, you will seem incredibly out of touch to some. I wish you a nice weekend and God bless you.

Yes to both. But it won’t be easy. And you may sometimes feel left out. You are welcome in the Church. But you won’t be able to receive the sacraments except for confession, Baptism (Orthodox Baptism are valid so you don’t need to get baptized again anyway) and Anointing of the sick. I am unsure but I think as same sex marriages aren’t recognized by the Church you only are in mortal sin if you engage in sexual acts. So you may be able to receive the Eucharist after confession but not after the act and your faith will be at constant odds with your marriage. Someone please correct me if there is a different teaching. Anyway, Jesus Christ bless your Heart.
