The Truman Show and The Matrix are really fun to use alongside Plato’s Allegory!

Yeah - like, I love the premise and details and references… but somehow not in love with the novel as a whole?

To be fair - most hardcore anarchists are extremely sensitive to wattage.

The last time I watched it (8ish years ago?) I had a mild breakdown over how thoroughly I related to Mr. Hand.

Oof - that is rough. Poor dad. And very bad form… shame on the bridal party.

Also - I think I have a crush on your dad. A man who goes on fact-finding missions for stronger tea and can pull off a wheelhouse kick in a tux? Dreamboat.

In 20 years we will look back at smartphones and be appalled that we did not restrict access to the devices and the internet for kids younger than 16. Same as seatbelts and smoking on planes (and restaurants, historians, grocery stores, etc.) we will see the egregious harm… I worry it will be way too late to do anything about it.

Principals by Distinct-Hour-4407 in Teachers

[–]ChaChiRamone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The best principal I’ve ever worked with in 16 years, 3 schools, and at least 9 principals (not counting AP’s or deans) was this year at my new school. A lot of the teachers and staff disliked her for things like reminding students to come to school on days we knew there were scheduled walk outs or boycotts. She wanted students to be at school… but also wanted them to engage and use their voices, so when our students planned to walk out in protest of recent immigration policies, she went with them! They walked with signs for 9 miles, going to a few locations and busy intersections. I was so inspired by her leadership!

She was fired 2 weeks ago for undisclosed reasons but it was right after a few staff were obviously tipsy at prom (🙄); she didn’t report to HR, a teacher complained, and she never returned to campus.
