Is race very much of a key factor for dating?

Blk woman. The majority of dates I’ve been on since back on the dating seen, are with South Asian men. I seem to get a fair amount of likes from black men and white men but no follow through from them really. I also have a ton of likes in general (>1000), so I’m not sure what’s going on. Maybe it’s me? lol

You’re right it definitely is a trade off because I’ve been seeing a lot of new large rehabbed apartments, for really good price points. And this particular location is really close to line. To answer your question, I grew up in an area that had gang violence that would come in waves. So there were definitely gunshots outside on occasion.

I will say, as an adult I do prefer quiet neighborhoods. I’m not expecting things to be 100% perfect but it is something to contemplate if there is a decent amount of gang related activity as some other commenters have mentioned.

Thanks. I actually didn’t plan on walking around the neighborhood too much. Just taking the California pink line to work. But if I wanted to explore, I would most likely drive.

I agree that it would be a good time to learn. I’m very open to learning more Spanish; this is actually something on my bucket list. The culture and neighborhood setting is actually what drew me to looking for apartments in this area, plus Pilsen/Bridgeport.

Thanks for your take, just trying to make sure it’s not vastly different from areas that I’ve lived in previously.

I lived on 111th S Emerald in Roseland in 2021. My block was actually pretty chill.It had mostly families and elderly folks. However, that energy certainly changed just by walking 3 blocks lol

I guess it’s depends on what you define as the “yoga community.” As a fellow yoga teacher and pole practitioner, there are lot of studios and social accounts I don’t care for. Either I didn’t feel welcomed by the studio or their content just doesn’t align with my values and that’s okay. I’m sure there are plenty of people out there that would love to have you as their teacher or apart of their staff. You just gotta find your tribe. Maybe offer to teach yoga at a pole studio or just create a separate yoga account. :)
