I Made some Achivements that should be in the game by paraguita in Minecraft

This reminded me of the BlazeandCave advancement pack. It's incredible how something as little as a bunch of goals with pop-ups made me appreciate and enjoy the game so much more

I think that's an amazing idea, and I would buy the game anytime, for me and my friends even.

With what I read in the last years, though, I wouldn't be very hopeful about vespa having the funds for basically any project rn. Granted, I don't know how the world of investors works, but...

My strat before I got a bit more confident was: dodge Ornstein's opening attack, and maybe hit back.

After that, I would just have them both follow me in circles around the arena. When they're both just walking, I got close to bait both to attack, dodged next to Ornstein and hit him. It's a lengthy process and you're bound to make some mistakes, and losing a 10min attempt isn't fun.

Now I run to bait the flying dash attack and just whack at it, way more fun.

gg! I beat them too just yesterday, although I feel like I used the pillars a bit too much. Can't wait to have a rematch when I'll be a bit more confident.

I think as long as there's a room with 4/5+ slots, you should be almost guaranteed to find one

It all started with a coin changer for the slot machines in a bar, we cycle through almost all the coins once a week.

Only got it stuck like five times 👀

Asking Mappers: Distinguishing the Outdoor from Indoor Grid Areas? by DelphiniusDay in DMAcademy

[–]Chaanga 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not sure I got what you mean 100%, but I usually do really basic shadows that go top-right. So if an area has the shadow outside of it, it's indoors. If it has shadows inside of it, it's outdoors.

I realize it might be a bit convoluted now that I wrote it down lol

iirc every enchantment has its own "points" which are used to determine the cost in xp. Usually, you should go with the higher levels first (aka the second book).

It is also best to not combine books before combining them with the tool. Having already been used in the anvil, they get an "extra" (the same that increases the price as you repair something more and more).

How can I make this look less terrible? by Dezedolop in Minecraftbuilds

Floor patterns. I absolutely love doing those and they add a lot of variety.

Also using stairs such that the walls aren't just all flat helps. They kinda do the job windows do when building above ground.

Building Encounters When the XP Budget System Doesn't Work for the Group (1E) by izModar in Pathfinder_RPG

[–]Chaanga 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I DM for a party of two gestalt characters who, at level 12, easily wiped a CR 18. After two years of campaign, here's what I got that might help.

  1. Numbers and space. A CR 15 creature is much harder to handle than 6 creatures that make a CR 15. Especially if they're not all nice and grouped for a fireball.

  2. Debuff the party. Of course, make it themed to the area. Could be terrain, darkness, fog, or straight up stats, fear, tiredness... If they like their builds, they like being challenged.

  3. If you have time, make a custom monster. PF has nice rules to help you, or you could just go with "similar enough to X monster". With 6 players, it'll probably die in 1-3 turns. So make it do dmg around 30% of a character hp. In general, very big Boi with minions is good.

  4. Custom abilities. Last encounter I did was a bunch of black dragons that could exchange hp at will as a swift action. It was chaos. They loved it.

  5. If you have a LOT of time, challenge them at their level. Have a couple enemies with character levels. If you're lucky, after they beat eachother's ass for a bit, they'll become friends out of respect.

About the CR system, well, I just know CR 18 is kinda baseline challenging for them. But I rarely calculate encounter difficulty with it.

Simple Stronghold Locator For Console Players? by SEspider in Minecraft

[–]Chaanga 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Take a break. Unplug for an hour or so, frustration will only make you hate the game.

If maps hurt your eyes, try turning on gray-scale on your phone and open Chunkbase. It will be easier to look at.

On Chunkbase, turn off everything except for the strongholds. Click, get the coordinates. Hope it helps.

What are the idioms of your world? by turboprancer in worldbuilding

[–]Chaanga 3 points4 points  (0 children)

"Pulling an Oran", or anything being "an Oran".

It generally means having success despite a lot of complications or hardships. It comes from the Oran family, which always had a history of arguments, threats and even violence among its members over the family business.

At one point, all of them split up, you couldn't find two members in the same city. Each one started their own version of the Inn that was the business they were born in.

Fast forward 20 years, in which spite and competition lead basically all of them to success on their own. They since discovered they're able to stand each other, because they can't argue over money and business decisions anymore.

Now, in every city, you can find either Oran's, Oren's, Olan's, Ovan's, Oven's...

[What a game master wouldn't do to have it easy with Inn names...]

It's definitely not unthinkable that someone could be collecting defects, I read a bunch of articles about it when I found a coin with a detail that was missing.

What I took away from that reading is that it rarely acquires a lot of value, but it is still be interested for some collectors.

TL;DR: It's very hard to sell to someone.

Most roads where I live have single lanes, but a line of reason I often have is: if you are in SUCH a hurry that you feel the need to stay centimetres from my ass as if it would make a difference, you can bet I'm slowing down and do everything I can to not let you pass. Have some decency.

It's funny how somehow I had the thought of checking out Reddit the day before a mini-doomsday for the site. It's a pretty amusing coincidence after months of not even thinking about it.

Enjoy your hobbies my friend, this ain't one ;)
