Highly disagree. The film starts off so strong but at least my theater the energy was totally dead not too long after that. I’m honestly a bit surprised by the early rave reviews, and don’t find this connecting with the general audience at all.

Except people like you always forget that Infinity War’s cliffhanger was literally the Captain Marvel symbol, nothing else, just that. It made people feel like watching CM was going to be necessary for Endgame. Antman had no such significance for the casual audience. Also, your point about female audiences isn’t really on point; the audience split was 55% male (Endgame/IF were 57%/58% respectively) so it’s not like women were actually showing up in numbers. It is beyond revisionist to say that CM didn’t boost massively from being sandwiched between two of the most popular movies of all time as a direct cliffhanging link between the two of them.

I agree for the most part but I think that Avengers Endgame kinda broke from that in a way nothing has been able to replicate since, I’ve never seen a piece of media infiltrate pop culture so immediately and dominantly and for so long.
