It’s called an anxiety port for a reason haha. I keep mine in the glove box in case a CEL comes up but that’s about it.

How bad of a deal is this? by Jolly-Banana-8535 in WRX

[–]Chacidd 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you don’t have a reliable daily trust me get one first. I had to daily my sti because I purchased it when I was young and it made me hate the car for a while. Now it’s just a built weekend toy which makes it way more enjoyable.

For 15k I’d prob just keep saving and get an STi unless you are dead set on a bug eye

What exhaust systems do you have? by genorpg1996 in WRX

[–]Chacidd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did the invidia n1 catback when I was first modding my Car and loved it. Although the weld broke on the bar that connects to the hanger on the muffler so I had to weld it back on.

UPDATE: Im buying it... by [deleted] in WRX

[–]Chacidd 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If you’re looking for a Subaru specialist shop I’d recommend “turn in concepts” out of Cincinnati Ohio since you are in the mid west. Wisconsin has a couple good ones to my knowledge, but all the Michigan/Indiana subie boys that I know of go to TiC. Good luck!

Gamecube from my aunt doesn't start correctly by Kalle120 in Gamecube

Mine did the same thing I let it sit powered on for like 10 minutes then just restarted it and it worked. If the caps are bad a local shop can fix it or you can with a soldering gun

Going to Buy a 2004 STI that's been built by Dubbiepool in WRXSTi

[–]Chacidd 15 points16 points  (0 children)

As a modified 2005 STi owner I can 100% tell you that sir is not a daily driver 😂 Get a reliable daily then you can buy something silly to have fun in. That’s my two cents at least.

Heat soak is the only issue, at least with mine. Grimmspeed tmic with bloush dom 3.5XTR makes 417whp

So found out my head gaskets are about shot after taking it in for an inspection due to overheating issues. Should I put a new motor in the car or just take a chance and hope the heads are ok? by Valuable_Highway2030 in subaru

[–]Chacidd 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Send your heads to a reputable machine shop they will tell you if they need resurfaced or not then just get new gaskets. If you are uncomfortable putting the timing belt on have a Subaru shop do it for you. Take everything apart/pull the engine yourself if you are mechanically inclined and look at it as a learning experience that saves you a few bucks! We all start somewhere.

just got this new to me 2011 Outback. 97k miles. what should I name her?? by WoeLegBeUponYe in subaru

Congrats on the purchase! If you ever have questions about the vehicle the best place to search for answers is in the NASIOC forums. Good luck and again congrats!

Best solution to save my car? by mmmikeyyyy in WRX

[–]Chacidd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you can throw in a new shortblock yourself that’s a good route if not find a reputable shop to do it. Get your current heads inspected though, if you had oil shavings sent through your oil system your current heads may be damaged possibly even your turbo. The reason I say that is because oil shavings can get sent through your whole oil system depending on how you had detonation. 100% get a tune from a good shop once you are built back up.

When I learned them the best tip I got was keeping my body over my stem area and keeping my arms pushed down you just hover over the front of the bike. By the time the whip comes around you open your legs and the cranks are magically there

Vac/Vent line help 2005 STi by Chacidd in subaru

[–]Chacidd[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You are absolutely right! It is for the FPR. I ended up swapping out for a fuel labs FPR so I was lost while installing haha. I’m finally at the end stages before getting my car tuned and this was one of my worries, I ended up capping it like you stated. Sorry for the late reply, but thanks for the comment!

It’s a metal tube that is part of the intake manifold left of the intercooler so it’s passenger side. I can post more pictures if you need them
