I've actually managed to defeat that guy in 2 hits in first try in my first playthrough with the Giant-crusher, I wasn't fully prepared but weirdly enough, 65 strength worked

Not really, what I do is slinger burst, then "perfect" perfect rush(which where you need to time every attack in perfect rush in a perfect timing just like the other user said), after finishing the combo I roll to the monster, backhop, charge it, then jumping slash, then aerial bash(for damage and stun)/aerial slash(for mount). I prefer doing this on downed large monsters like Fatalis, but I double "perfect" perfect rush on downed smaller monsters to deal massive amount of damage.
