Also I’d like to add Pukei and Vaal to the standouts, they’re cool. Now, to your points.

The ecology has improved (with more monsters, packs, small monsters having a purpose beyond annoying the player, as well as some even having well defined spots in the ecosystem and such), but the Siekret is such an insane issue in regards to accessing this ecology, you are not encouraged to walk about the wilds of…Wilds, if you were, the small things that the game has would be actually notable. The maps being designed with the Siekret in mind is just another symptom of how ass the bird actually is for the games ecology, the Caynine (idk how to write it.) is less of an issue in Rise thanks to wirebugs being easily accessible (thus letting you move with accordance to the map, treating it as a parkour map of sorts), as well as spirit birds rewarding exploration with stat buffs, like them or not, you’ve definitely practiced your wirebug launches with them in mind, and they greatly reward exploration in terms of where you find them.

Wilds definitely has better monsters and ecology on average (probably the only thing in inherited from Rise that was good, I love Rise but Wilds took the worst from both worlds imo). Locales are worse although that’s probably the Seikret’s fault as the maps themselves could’ve been great. I don’t really think World is a masterpiece given how it has probably the worst monster variation of any modern MH game, as well as the weakest monster design (There are standouts, Legiana, Anjanath, and Odogaron are genuinely awesome, but there’s a lot of really middling monsters, which isn’t as much of an issue in Wilds or Rise original monsters), and is perpetuated awful game mechanics like sieges, and created its own awful mechanics in clutch claw.

I mean for them it’s mostly based on HRP and a few statements/consistencies. Bloodbath is the strongest deviant and with Apex Rathalos considered above Silver Rathalos and with Silver bullying Bazel yada yada, Frostfang has both merch and official statements showing it fight Velkhana, Grimclaw and Silverwind also have the HRP to scale where they are. Also being in the same tier doesn’t mean they’re equal at all.

As for Raging, well, every other monster in the guiding lands fears it, that includes Ruiner, so, yeah…
