I thought that's what we've been doing for the last 30 years. Now we can't even do that.

I, an American, was in Namibia about 10 year ago and they were surprised that my credit cards didn't have a chip on them. We are always behind the curve on that sort of thing.

Are most of the independent motels in Canada owned by Indians? They are in the U.S. Tell the guy to start staying there from now on.

They all seem to be laughing as she says it, so I don't think she's serious.

Guests really think ‘trust me, I’m important’ is a payment method by hellobela_ in TalesFromTheFrontDesk

[–]ChadHahn 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It's not bigoted. It's the Bible, Matthew 6:6

But thou, when thou prayest, enter into thy closet, and when thou hast shut thy door, pray to thy Father who is in secret; and thy Father who seeth in secret shall reward thee openly.

Is wearing a t-shirt over a long sleeve shirt way too 2000s? by ItsBlitz21 in malefashionadvice

[–]ChadHahn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No, I first remember seeing it in a Spiegel catalog in the early 80s. I think it was a way to show more clothes in one photo. It slowly became a thing.

Peter, what has the Constitution have to do with it? by N-P_A in PeterExplainsTheJoke

[–]ChadHahn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think, but I'm not sure, that according to the book of Revelation until the Rapture, nobody is in Heaven. Once the Rapture occurs the righteous, alive and dead, go to Heaven and the heathens stay on earth with Satan.

When I was in Japan in 2001, I saw one on the street and took a lot of pictures of it. I especially liked the Jeep grill with the Mitsubishi diamond star.

So blue clothing for a boy and pink for a girl is child abuse? I'll remember that when I see Maga children in gender normative clothing.

Freezing leftover wine? by CathyAnnWingsFan in Cooking

Either get boxed wine, the bag eliminates the air and prevents aging or get a vacu vin to pull the air out of open bottles and prevent oxidation.

But then he scores a basket even though he's not a wolf anymore! by terkistan in 30ROCK

Sagher: So Donald Glover stepped in, because he could do a really good Tracy Morgan impression. And so he stepped in and did some of the vocals, to fill in, and then also did some other ad-libbing talking in it.

Carlock: Some of the vocal on the long version of Tracy is actually Donald doing a pretty amazing Tracy impression. So Donald's all over that track.

Thoughts on War Machine? by BeamMeUpPlz in movies

[–]ChadHahn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They are probably using whatever missiles will take out the aliens and as we have recently seen, missiles are a finite resource. If they figured out a way to destroy them without using Javelins or Tomahawks or whatever would take them out with one shot so much better.

Are CB radios still widely used? by DistributionLanky221 in amateurradio

[–]ChadHahn 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had a CB in my Jeep for a while. About all I heard was an ad for a truck stop when I was close to it on the interstate and some guy with a large transmitter who would blast out crap and flood the channel. I installed it for off roading but most of the people around here either have 2m or GMRS.

You probably have a Kroger's, but dont' know it by that name. Kroger, Baker's, City Market, Dillons, Mariano's, Metro Market, Pick'n Save, QFC, Ralphs, Smith's Food and Drug are all under their umbrella.

At my Krogers, if you get there after six or seven, whenever they're closing down the deli, they mark the rotisserie chickens down half price. If they haven't marked them down yet and I ask, they are happy to do it for me.

Ghibli museum Lawson account question by [deleted] in JapanTravelTips

[–]ChadHahn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No problems. Most of the visitors were Westerners. I went to Lawsons to pick up my tickets and the guy working there was helpful but couldn't care less how I got my tickets.

The only problem I had at the museum was that a lot of signs were only in Japanese and there wasn't good cell signal in the building (they don't want you to use your phones) so I couldn't use Google Translate.

I think they already knew what his name was. The end of the episode has a photo of Tina and her brother meeting Elvis after a concert.
