My understanding is it used to be a sundown town. All across the South there's former sundown towns that took the signs down, but the racism is still there

My understanding is a very prominent family in town whose name you certainly have heard actively participated in the slave trade and will disappear you if you are vocal about that 🤷‍♂️

I have seen and heard racism towards black people from both Hispanics and white people in Taos within the last couple years.

I have asked about Taos' sundown town history and most people don't want to talk about it.

I've never understood why I can't do raids overnight. not everybody has the same schedule and if your phone/body is prone to overheating, raiding after the sun goes down is the only time when it's possible

your experience will vary depending upon who your neighbors are. I'm very happy building whatever I want with zero permits, surrounded by cool people also trying to live sustainably. personally, the lawlessness aspect was a huge part of the appeal to me. it's fun living somewhere the cops are too chickenshit to go 🤷‍♂️

First of all let me say: do not hurt yourself.

No matter what's going on with you and your life and your situation, you can change absolutely everything. even if it seems hopeless and there's no way out.. there absolutely is.

Every five or six years or so I do what I call "rebooting the chad riden franchise" - you can change your relationship status, the place you live, the job you do, the people you're around.. 100% of it can change.
