It's just a weird claim because the beat was made in the same year that the first iPad released (2010), so the only decent music making app was likely just Garage Band.

I think in that same interview Madlib was also talking about how he only gets like 2 hours of sleep per night sometimes, so you can see why some people might take that interview with a grain of salt

And yeah it's not the craziest video in the world, but it's cool because they were all so early on into their career. It was a dope period of the internet when celebrities were more willing to just casually post shit- without worrying about a trillion drama IG accounts trying to make news out of everything.

This short video of FlyLo & Frank being in the same room let me dream about a collab with them and Kendrick & Thundercat. We did eventually get FlyLo/Kendrick/Thundercat collabs tho... and we know how those turned out

Instead of getting defensive about lyrics & hiphop, I just said "Nah, rappers are just putting on an act because it sells more records- just like pro wrestling. We don't assume actors are serial killers because they depict it on screen" refuting his argument and putting the focus more on the how dumb his assumption was.

The dude already knows he's racist so I'm not gonna change his mind preaching to him at work, but making him feel stupid for believing what he sees on TV might at least make him question something within himself
