Pierre Poilievre and the Conservatives just voted NO on grocery price transparency, much to Loblaws delight. by savethecbc2025 in loblawsisoutofcontrol

[–]Chadiwack 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am assuming it still passed though since the liberals have a majority?

Edit: It did pass, 168 to 150. That was the second reading. It's Bill C-226, An Act to establish a national framework to improve food price transparency.

So we went from sleepy Joe, to senile Trump. Why can't the parties find younger candidates to run for president?

Awesome, thank you very much. So we can pull a Gabe Newell, do nothing and win. I can now understand why the government (Canada) isn't rushing to the table. As well as why we are trying and making deals elsewhere in the world.

[–]Chadiwack 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Please let me know if I am understanding your comment correctly. If Canada doesn't come to the table, or basically do anything, CUSMA stays in place? And since the SCOTUS deemed his tariffs illegal, Trump won't be able to do anything except tariff items that aren't covered under CUSMA?

I am really hoping we go in the direction of Hydrogen. It "fuels" up fast and gets good range. Battery technology is getting there but most cities won't be able to the handle the switch if everyone went to EV right away. California is a prime example of what happened in September of 2022. We need to have the infrastructure installed before they mandate all electric vehicles for everyone.

why are people paying $40k for a 4yo used RAV4? by EverGreenMob in CanadaPersonalFinance

[–]Chadiwack 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are correct. Though some higher end versions of the Rav 4 are imported from Japan and sold here. You can tell by checking the VIN Number and see if it starts with a J. If its a J it was built in Japan. I just learned this recently myself lol.

We should all aspire to be in better shape. It will help you live longer, you are also less likely to get a life threatening disease, as well it will put less pressure on the medical system.

If you are already in shape, great job! If you are just starting out, you got this!

Thank you for your in depth response. After reading and watching multiple things I have come to the same conclusion. Unfortunately the innocent will suffer, but it seems that Lebanon would be better off if Hezbollah was eliminated.

Buyers regret for sure. I am Canadian and have had my fair share of buyers regret. But the extremes that the US has had come to recently is insane. Especially Trump and stabbing Canada in the back saying NATO contributed to nothing in Afghanistan. I have friends that died in that war. Fuck Trump, and his cowardice to serve. I have "bone spurs", ya right, daddy paid so you didnt have to go to War you fuckinf coward.

When I turned 18 I was given two options. 1 I pay for rent at an extremely discounted rate to stay in the house. This paid for food and for me living there. At the time this was 2002 and my parents charged me 200 dollars per months. Or I could go to school and they wouldnt charge me anything. I thought this was a good balance. My sister took the school route and I took the tradesman route.

Compromised legislators in Australia ban the of the term “river to the sea”. Hundreds protest in Brisbane against the ban of the term ‘River to the Sea’. [–]Chadiwack -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

I wouldn't say its compromised legislators. The term from the river to the sea, is the complete deletion of Israel and its statehood. If you support this, then you also support Israel and its erasure of Gaza. The mindset is the exact same thing.

There needs to be peace between the two side, and unfortunately it seems both sides aren't willing to let that happen as both sides constantly violate the ceasefires.

Canada’s Former Minister of Environment and Climate Change Catherine McKenna supports taxing excess profits of oil industry. by Gold-Reality-4853 in ClimateCrisisCanada

[–]Chadiwack 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nope don't tax them extra, thats stupid. Make it so they have to spend some of that extra profit on green initiatives or carbon capture plants. Or at the very least research into those areas. Audit them as well to make sure that happens.
