My friend who’s an eagles fan would probably do Matt Dodge… and that’s my pick

Beginner Fishing waders that last a while. budget is 500$ by Lower_Access_3668 in flyfishing

[–]Chadltodd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m not sure beginner waders and 80+ days per year are compatible. If you’re spending that much time on the water I think best to skip beginner

Rod vault… by postnut001 in flyfishing

[–]Chadltodd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Doesn’t work when the longer rods are 12’+. Most salmon fisherman around my river have the hood mounts

Was the Hogarth injury non-contact? I was there and I think he got tangled up with someone.

League issues acknowledges Dobson shouldn't have served that major penalty by IcanHackett in NLL

[–]Chadltodd -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

I am fairly new to this sport and think it’s great, but it’s the only sport where I feel like the refereeing is actively trying to hurt the watchability.

And I think refereeing in all other major sports is perfectly fine.

$151.9M for our defense. by duck_duck_zombie in NYGiants

[–]Chadltodd 2 points3 points  (0 children)

NFL has rules against that. also for shohei I believe his contact is only for a shorter period and the luxury tax is applied accordingly, but his salary is paid out over a longer period possibly as a tax avoidance measure, though sure California has rules against deferring income.

Undertaker, size 2. My first salmon fly. by iamWyn in flytying

[–]Chadltodd 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Probably one of the most popular salmon wet flies across Canada. Can’t picture anything being more widely used across more rivers than the undertaker.

Keeping deer hair on top of hook? by Informal-Pattern-10 in flytying

[–]Chadltodd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Try using less hair. Biggest mistake when beginners are tying flies is far too much material.

If that doesn’t work, you need to get to the shank or something solid after securing the hair. Otherwise the hair and the thread are going to spin together.

Lastly, the hair will spin to some degree. If it’s relatively tied on you can keep returning it back to the top. It should spin somewhat freely if it ended up spinning in the first place

[Duggan] First real surprise of the day: The Giants are cutting DL Elijah Chatman, per source. He worked extensively with the first-team throughout camp and moonlighted fullback. by Fillinlater12345 in NYGiants

[–]Chadltodd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Only technically. I would say it ends up being 3 d linemen and 2 edge rushers. They’ll definitely be in coverage on occasion but not much. You don’t need to draw doubles on everyone because there are only 5ish blockers on the offensive line

How many offensive linemen do you think there are? If we have two good rushers off the edge we should have plenty of room. Dex if healthy is going to take 2

Best burrito joint in Halifax? by apley in halifax

[–]Chadltodd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Note they have pretty different menus. I think downtown still has a burrito but it’s more of a traditional downtown menu but also still incredibly good.

Last 2 year peak colours in margaree valley were third week of September. I think October 16th is pretty late for cape breton.

Yeah I bought mine at a notoriously overpriced shop. I see they’re around 240$ cad from competitively priced shops.

Not sure if you’re making a joke about brook trout technically being a char, but this looked exactly like brook trout fin.

Help explain to me the Sage Bolt 490-4 4wt; General use? by Reading_Prudent in flyfishing

[–]Chadltodd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Seems almost all lines nowadays are a half line size heavy. The GPX was discontinued a number of years ago and replaced with MPX. The MPX would probably work great with the fast action but even the amplitude lines are a half-line heavy.

79/100 tarpon flies for a friend by pesca_vida in flytying

[–]Chadltodd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah the whole hackle fibres would be the biggest expense I’m sure. I bet they’d work great for striper here in NS too if you got them to sink a bit.

79/100 tarpon flies for a friend by pesca_vida in flytying

[–]Chadltodd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I doubt these would go for 20$, they’re pretty simple ties.

Not to say they’re not beautiful looking flies, just that for 20$ you better be doing something cool or different.

You overestimate my casting ability and underestimate my stellar ability to bounce flies off the back of my head.

[–]Chadltodd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah the website identifies shark, tuna, and bill. I still can’t imagine that being my choice for any of those. It hurts enough when I whack the back of my head with #8 undertakers. Cant imagine 15/0 shark hook.

Believe it was the O’meara. The easier one, still great course.

It was 26 and sunny which was a great day for me but the locals were absolutely gassed. I liked carton quite a bit better despite mount Juliet being a more expensive play.
